All the hate with kilts and robes actually don't come from the fashion concept .
Fact is that, aside from making character movement to seem clunky and fake, clipping through mounts -because it just replace your legs and don't cover it- some races just get really bad with robe style gear, take Male Human and Male Draenei for example, they're just too buffed up to someone even believe they're actually casters.
Skinny models like most females and Male Belfs do actually look nice wearing them tough.
