Oh hell yes it does!
After I had some neuro surgery a few years ago, I noticed I was having real trouble with my short term memory and handling more than 3 tasks at a time.
It affected me as a healer in WoW as well.
For a while I gave up on healing because of this new disorder. But after one tough night at work, I got angry and started pushing myself. I even went back to healing. I started doing 5 mans with friends. After a few months, then years I have trained my brain cells once again to juggle tasks in WoW and tending bar. Bar tending can be incredibly difficult. You are under siege from guests (meanies and nicies), managers, cooks, servers and togo orders.. and that damn phone.
I tell my nurses and doctors video games have helped me focus as I did before I got sick. One doctor told me he encourages it.
So WoW helped me
