Mists of Pandaria Beta: Watch the Horde intro to Pandaria
What is most surprising is Garrosh's behavior at the beginning of the event, signaling the beginning of his lack of control. Supplies are running low, support is running thin, and each of the various nations of the Horde are having trouble paying their dues. Silvermoon, it seems, is in a precarious amount of debt. Garrosh's patience with his allies is wearing thin, and his brashness might be taking over a bit too suddenly.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!Filed under: Mists of Pandaria

I think I'm more scared about the thought that Anduin is likely on a boat filled with Draenei. Now..I love the spacegoats. I do. But considering their rather storied history with piloting various vessels... x.x

@snarkygoldfish - it's kind of hilarious that both the races from Draenor SUCK@VESSELZ. Look how long it takes the Horde to get where they're going in WCIII--green brothers cannot sail. And the Draenei have the whole crash-landing thing...
Nobody from Draenor ought to be allowed to fly or sail anything, srsly.

We begin to see the seeds of Garrosh's downfall. The costs of his war escalate and appear to be bankrupting the Horde. This will lead to hard times and dissatisfaction among the Horde populace, leading to civil war and the Horde version of the Arab spring. We will see the general populous rising up, and using the tools of social media available, (ie...trade, guild, raid and party chat), to coordinate military, political and civil insurrection. The Horde populace will finally decide that enough is enough, leading to the eventual downfall of Garrosh. Besides by being a tyrant and jerk, this will allow who ever comes next to look even better!

Oh, Nazgrel. You must have killed an albatross with all those crashed ships you've endured.

Yes, I've read a poem, try not to faint.

So...let me get this straight...Captain Taylor and a fleet of Alliance ships, one of which Anduin Wrynn is on, become lost at sea, presumably in the Mists of Pandaria. To find them, Varian sends out a squadron of fighters to locate the lost fleet. However, they come across a horde ship carrying Garrosh's "precious cargo". The horde ship and alliance fighters engage, damaging the fighters and causing them to crash land, while the horde ship and whatever was on it sink to the bottom of the sea. While the survivors of the aerial crash encounter Captian Taylor and crew, who have successfully established an outpost, Garrosh sends a crew to find his lost ship and whatever was on it...and the horde crash onto Pandaria too...somehow...
Seems at least the alliance story is farther along that the horde story. Did I get all that right?
Sagretti Mar 29th 2012 2:33PM
My guess? The horde ship that is hit by the crashing plane in the Alliance intro is the same ship horde players will be riding in their intro.
ahsanali Mar 29th 2012 3:08PM
We horde players are going to the island on an airship, not a ship.
zoidfa Mar 29th 2012 2:30PM
Its a shame, but Garrosh still does better than 80% of wall street on finances

I just realized, wouldn't this video make no logical sense once we have pandarens running around Oggrimmar? Why would they be confused about the mist? This would only make sense in the patch before the expansion!
Sarducci Mar 29th 2012 3:06PM
no, those pandarens came off the Wandering Isle, so don't know jack about the mists.
Ullaana Mar 29th 2012 3:28PM
Hmmm, since those Mists have been around Pandaria for about 100 centuries, exactly how old are our Pandaren characters going to be? I thought the turtle made landfall in Pandaria about once every hundred years?
Ullaana Mar 29th 2012 3:48PM
Found the description of Shen-zin Su and I was mistaken about the returning every hundred years, though he did return several times so Liu Lang could tell of his discoveries and take others with him. The logical conclusion from this is that our characters are all native born sons and daughters of the Wandering Isle.
However they should still be aware of the Mists, as it is doubtful they have never heard of their homeland from the many trainers and teachers on the Isle.

I assume that they will voice this at some point right? Seems like a perfect candidate for a spot of voice-over work. Maybe playing TOR has ruined me though. Still, looking forward to dabbling in pandas for a bit when this comes out!
Wait ... that sounded dirty.
erik Mar 29th 2012 3:08PM
I hope so. Thank you. When I quested through Uldum, I didn't mind the cut scenes. But there wasn't voice overs. And it just takes me out of the scene. But I hope it works out great.
Farli Mar 29th 2012 3:10PM
Who do you speak to on Beta to start this event for the Alliance-side cutscene, anyone know?
Eric Mar 29th 2012 3:23PM
Just to be slightly nitpicky: it's not Nazgrel in this video - it's Nazgrim. The former is in charge of Thrallmar; the latter, the guy with whom we nearly drowned in Vash'jir, if memory serves.
Shinae Mar 29th 2012 3:57PM
THRALL'S BALLS, you're right!
roseclown Mar 29th 2012 5:08PM
Nazgrim is awesome. That is all.
/just finished the questchain in Vashj'ir, because she left WoW for a year and is this behind.
RetPallyJil Mar 29th 2012 3:43PM
Meme aside, Silvermoon being in the most debt makes sense, as they have been involved in a tremendous rebuilding project ever since joining the Horde. By the same token, low-maintenance Thunder Bluff having the least is also reasonable.
... and it was pretty sweet showing the progress on the map itself. That was cute as hell. LITTLE BOATS! (hearts)
