These are simply amazing. I did like the new sort of fire effects we saw in Soul Fire for warlocks on the user and such, and was hoping we'd have some of that more detailed fire in the new totems, but I'd be lying if these are still not better than I anticipated. Major props to the people who made the totems, these are absolutely fantastic.

These do look amazing, but I have a lot of concern that in the absence of buff totems and with totems largely being on 1+ minute CDs, frankly, we won't have them down to see them!
I think there's a glyph to show totems, even when you don't have totems down, but that seems cheesy to me.

Ill bring the Dwarven Ale!!
These do look pretty great but I cant see switching my Dwarven Shammy whose every fiber of being is soaked in Brew just for some keg totems. I do miss not getting keg totems for my Dorf but it makes sense why that never happened now.
Strawder Mar 29th 2012 8:36AM
Yeah it definitely seems like Dwarves didn't get them because they'd been reserved for the Pandaren all along. Blizzard has all this written out years in advance.

Having already decided to roll a Gnome Monk, I was conflicted on what my Pandaren should be. This pretty much sealed the deal.

nice

Are they the same for Horde and Alliance Pandaren shaman? Or is that red cord around them for the Horde, and a blue cord for Alliance?
Lohkie Mar 29th 2012 1:33AM
I would assume that they are the same for both factions. The red is fir the fire totem and the blue is for air and water totems.
Olania Mar 29th 2012 1:50AM
No, he means the red rope and tassels. It's possible that these are the Horde Pandaren totems, and the Alliance version will have blue rope and tassels. But I doubt it.
Lohkie Mar 29th 2012 2:02AM
To be honest I didn't even notice the color of the rope, but that could make sense if they made the rope blue for alliance and red for horde

One would hope, seeing as how they're trying to ensure players can tell ally's spell effects from that of the enemy. With pandaren being able to be both Horde and Alliance, we need an easy way to tell their totems apart at a glance without having to hover over and see if our mouse changes to a dagger.
That said, I had been wondering why dwarven shaman didn't get keg totems and this certainly explain it. They must have been planning pandaren shaman for that long.
Strawder Mar 29th 2012 8:38AM
I'd bet $5 easy that they do have one color rope for Alliance and one for the Horde. That may seem unusual for some of you, but stop to remember this is WoW's first Neutral race, so there's likely going to be some things we see that we've never seen before, when it comes to player Races and telling them apart.
I'm still wondering how you're supposed to be able to tell an Alliance Pandaren from a Horde Pandaren... it just seems like BGs will be confusing as hell with this race until you see "red" (if it's red, it's dead) (just, as an example).
Edymnion Mar 29th 2012 9:27AM
In my experience in PvP, if you're looking at the character models to decide if they're horde or alliance, you're way too close to them. Red nameplates can be seen from across the field, farther out than you can tell the difference between a belf and a nelf.

While it would be a nice touch to have them separate colors, all of the ropes throughout the panda starting zone are red or brown so don't be surprised if both Alliance and Horde totems are also red.
Lohkie Mar 29th 2012 1:23AM
I may be forced to race change my dwarf shammy to a panda. Not sure how I feel about this. Suppose I could just roll a new shaman
Saeadame Mar 29th 2012 1:36AM
Moar shamans!
Olania Mar 29th 2012 1:47AM
No, he means the red rope and tassels. It's possible that these are the Horde Pandaren totems, and the Alliance version will have blue rope and tassels. But I doubt it.
