The other thing flying is very nice for is getting past a pack of mobs you don't feel like fighting, who would aggro you if you tried to ride through them. I've always found it funny that I could hover half an inch off the ground and these big scary beasts would act like I wasn't there.

I remember I kept a defense-capped set in my bags just so I could run through mobs without getting dazed.
