Next wave of 100,000 Mists of Pandaria beta invites sent out

Yesterday's 100,000 Annual Pass-holder beta-test invites ran through the night, and we're still in the process of notifying the invitees by email. Those selected for yesterday's wave of invites should all have the Mists of Pandaria beta client available for download through Battle.net account management, and they should all receive the email notification by end of day today. If the beta client shows up for you in Battle.net account management, you don't need to wait for the email in order to download the client and begin testing.
We're off to a solid start with the beta test, and things are looking good in terms of realm stability, so we're ready to invite another wave of Annual Pass holders. A second wave of invites is going out to 100,000 more Annual Pass holders today, starting right now.
If you're added in this or any subsequent wave, access to the beta client will show up in Battle.net account management as discussed above. Please check there today and tomorrow, as today's wave of invites will be processing throughout the day and likely into early tomorrow morning. Notification emails will also be going out, but again, no need to wait for the email if the beta client is available to you through Battle.net account management.

Good luck to everyone -- and if you get in, wave at the tauren warrior, or the worgen warrior, or the night elf warrior, or the draenei warrior, since he or she might be me.

This is very encouraging. I'm going to try not to check my battle.net because I didn't start playing til 2009. Yeah, ok. Who am I kidding? I'll be checking. ##@!$!

It's good because they're following through on their commitment to their customers. At the same time it's kinda terrifying. Plopping an extra 200,000 people onto two servers is a LOT of people into what now feels like a small space.
Well...maybe they'll add an extra beta server or two if things get crazy.
Or maybe they'll say "well sorry, but you all wanted into the beta. Welcome to the beta! Servers crash. Have fun?"
Option 1 would be more community friendly, but option 2 would be funnier. ;)

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm pretty impressed by Blizzard right now.

Why do you hate to be impressed with Blizzard? They're a great company ._.

Cause they're the man!

I'm wondering if there was much more closed beta than we thought, and Mists launch is closer then we imagined. 200000 beta testers sounds more like a pre-launch stress test then an actual beta.

Well, they still have another 800k annual pass participants to invite, so this is just a small part of what's needed. Plus, we don't really know just how large previous beta invites got and most likely the majority of people invited are not going to participate or will only play a couple hours and then quit.

I hope it's not terribly soon. The beta forums are loaded with people reporting bugs, missing graphics and quests... The usual items you find in a beta, but not a late stage beta.

Man . . . they're not screwing around . . .
Azi Mar 30th 2012 7:47PM
Crossing my fingers man. Crossing my fingers. I gotta be of this wave :

jamie9966 Mar 30th 2012 7:53PM
Crap, this was meant to be a reply ¬_¬
GamerX Mar 30th 2012 7:54PM

Draev Mar 30th 2012 8:03PM
Lol got in after i got off work today. Logged in, rolled a monk and got to level 2. I used my new roll ability and the server went down. Beta is beta. Can't wait for it to come back up.
Ickabob Mar 30th 2012 8:09PM
Dang still no access. Soon™. /sigh
Eternauta Mar 30th 2012 8:35PM
Same here.
Although I waited until last minute to take the annual pass, and have been playing only since late TBC.
