My main problem with the Deathwing fights is that I have very little sense that I am fighting the Big Bad - he just has so little personality to begin with, and now he is essentially reduced to an amorphous blob. And both fights are extraordinarily repetitive.

Compare to fights like Illidan or LK (my favorite boss fights). There, I felt like I it was personal, and the mechanics kept the raid on our toes. It took my semi-casual guild months to down LK on 25. I pugged Madness 3 weeks into this tier.

Ultimately, and this is obviously just my taste, I found Deathwing too much of a force of nature to make a really satisfying villain. It was kind of like having a final boss fight against a hurricane. Destructive, yes, but I just didn't feel the hate.
