The raid itself was just sorta "there" overall. It definitely seemed like something that the developers threw together in passing as they shifted focus towards reversing the subscription bleed with Mists. I personally don't mind that if the goal was indeed to make a Mists that is better targeted than Cataclysm was - I imagine that they want Cata over and done with as much as most of the rest of us seem to.

The "do battle with Deathwing's appendages" thing at the end, though, seemed to me like a bit of a tactical misstep. Maybe I just wasn't invested in the story enough (Cata's opening PvE content turned me off so I quit last February and didn't come back until recently - my only experience with DW was getting flame-bombed once), but there wasn't much that was epic about fighting a nameless claw or a jiggly tendon.
