Another 100,000 Mists of Pandaria beta invites arriving tonight

We heard you like invites so we put an invite in your invite so you can beta while you beta.
This is a short but sweet update that we're sending an additional 100,000 invites out tonight, for a total of 200,000 Mists of Pandaria invites being sent out today. Again, it will take a while for the invites to process so we recommend keeping an eye on your games list through Battle.net Account Management, as we expect invites to continue going out into the wee hours of the night and into tomorrow.
For more information on the invite process as a whole, please refer back to today's earlier announcement.

Then I guess we'll beta test in the shade.

Awesome for you, it downloads during the night and you get up to play. How fortuitous!
Kodiack Mar 31st 2012 1:11AM
And none of those is for me ='(

Feel your pain, buddy. Everyone else in my guild with the AP, including people who started their accounts after mine, got it now. >.

Holy cow, it sounds like they're already stress testing the servers... And not everything has been released even. Makes me think Blizz thinks they're close to being ready for release. Still don't think it's gonna release any time in the next month or anything, but hey, I can hope.
Azi Mar 31st 2012 1:14AM
Oh you think we are done? While we were inviting, we put invites in your invite so your invite will invite another person. IT IS INVICEPTION!
Zedd Mar 31st 2012 1:16AM
Wow, full 25-30% of the annual passholders getting invited in a 48 hour period.
Obviously the preliminary "is beta ready to go live" test went exceedingly well.
Can't wait to check out the new stories and whatnot, I'll see you soon fellow testers!
Hollow Leviathan Mar 31st 2012 1:20AM
This makes me seriously wonder how many people these beta servers can withstand. 300,000 people? I thought they only handled something like 10,000 people at once, on the topend.
Skarn Mar 31st 2012 1:35AM
Same here. I can't help but wonder if they just want to throw all million AP holders in and watch everything crumble. Then they can laugh and say "THAT is why we were waiting. We did what you wanted, you happy now?"
Ok they wouldn't be smug like that, but that little imp in the back of my head keeps WHISPERING things to me.
THINGS.

Unless... the server architecture that's being tested is a genuine cloud. [Pure Speculation Follows]
If they redesigned their server architecture to use a genuine cloud infrastructure, they could essentially have a "single" server environment that simply (yeah, I know, "ha, simply") expands as needed, drawing more resources as demand increases, and "collapsing" when the load is less. They *could* test that using the large beta pool of users at the same time as testing the game.
If the test was successful, they could roll that out to the existing pool of servers in stages. First, virtualize the servers (if they haven't already) and assign each its own space in the cloud. Eventually, you could consolidate the servers with the end goal being having no "realms" at all. Just one big game space.
Hm... I'd love to see their datacenter.

@ Glaras
Blizzard servers = Skynet!? So Skynet killed us all because it died in PvP to a human rogue.
