The Queue: Suffer for fashion
Or whatever.
Shinae asked:
I wonder how long it'll be before we can race-change to pandas. Wasn't there a delay after Cata's launch before we were allowed to race-change to goblins or worgen? (I didn't take advantage of that, so I don't remember.)
You were allowed to race-change to goblin or worgen the day that Cataclysm launched. No delays! I imagine it'll be the same for pandaren.
Nyold asked:
Is the Pet Battle available in the beta at all?
There's zero implementation of Pet Battling in the beta right now, minus the ability to track wild critters. It'll likely show up in a later beta patch.
Batleth asked:
Have we been shown anymore of the Sha? I've seen pics of the "Sha of Doubt" and it reminds me a lot of Carnage and Venom in the Spiderman Universe: Sentient beings that can attach themselves to (and control) a host body. Will we have a Sha for every negative emotion??
There are lots of different sha! Fear, Anger, Doubt, and more. We'll see them in dungeons and raids. We may even see them in patches, judging by how much our presence on Pandaria riles these guys up.
Ace asked:
In the beta I noticed notes from the devs(?) that are always marked with "PH:"
I tried to figure it out but couldn't. What does it mean? You can see them in the dungeon journal describing some bosses (and even making fun of one that I saw, lol)
Placeholder.
Rodmin asked:
Quick question: upon logging, i notice two options: wow1 or wow3. What are they about? Server groups?
WOW1 and WoW3 are different "licenses," or permission to access different types of the WoW client. WoW1 is your normal WoW client license, whereas WoW3 is the beta. If you didn't have WoW3, you wouldn't be able to access the beta server list.
Skyrei asked:
Question: With Pandas being available to both sides and them being able to be most classes, do you think they will eventually become the overall most popular race?
Well, between the fact that both factions can play them and the fact that they're new and cool-looking, yeah, I'd say it's pretty much guaranteed. In The Burning Crusade, there were new servers that were 80% blood elf -- not 80% Horde; 80% blood elf. I'm sure pandas will be quite popular.
Gosten asked:
Do guardian bears and brewmaster monks get their own leather gear, or do they still wear rogue/feral stuff?
Well, if by rogue gear you mean leather gear with agility on it, then yes, definitely. Rogues and brewmasters will probably be looking for different stats, though -- brewmasters for mastery, probably, and rogues for ... who knows, really?

When will blizz make heirlooms truly BoA?
Jason Mar 31st 2012 12:23PM
Any confirmation yet of an Agi heirloom staff, and/or fist weps?
Imnick Mar 31st 2012 12:45PM
No offence but how do you expect them to answer that question? They can see very little more of the future than you can 0:

@Jason
There is the repurposed lava dredger for agi, its a mace, but I believe it is useable by druids, and I assume monks will be able to use maces. (Not sure on the last part, haven't been paying attention to the monk stuff all that much)
I highly doubt there will be fist weapon heirlooms, but I have been wrong before.
I'm thinking that MoP will bring the heirloom pants, and something else I hope.
Narshe Mar 31st 2012 6:57PM
They have been working on turning it into some kind of boa token system that you can collect for all realms, so at least something is in the works atm. They haven't said specifically when it will be done though.
Mycroft Mar 31st 2012 7:00PM
@Jason iirc monks can use one-handed maces, and dual-wield; so a pair of Venerable Mass of McGowans should be good for your monk.

Is Grandmaster Pants alright? I miss him!

If Mr Belt can't make it today, and if last weeks awesome replacement is unavailable, I recommend this weeks Mage column be taken over by the following cuteness:

Why can I never stay logged into my Battle.net account? Every time I visit the main WoW site I have to log back in if I want to post on the forums or check my account. Is there a hidden menu somewhere to change this?
Luotian Mar 31st 2012 12:15PM
And, while we're at it, is there a way to make it so I don't need my authenticator every time?
Narayana Mar 31st 2012 12:49PM
You definitely want your authenticator each time. There's a lot of private information behind that wall.
Vitos Mar 31st 2012 4:06PM
I believe its because of your authenticator that you don't stay logged in. It can remember your username/password, but it can't generate your Authentication number for you, so it makes you reenter the data, even if you ask it to remember.
kewl97 Mar 31st 2012 4:52PM
My guess is that a website is inherently less secure than a custom built app, and it's easier to lift the log in information for IE/Firefox/Opera than the WoW Client. So when you log in with WoW, and the server sees it's from a specific client at a specific IP that logged in with a specific account, then it's safer to assume the person is the same and all is well without needing the Authenticator again.
With a Web Browser, it's possible it saved the password for the users convenience (the WoW client doesn't do this) and someone else could be on and retrieved it. As they can't be certain it's the same person, they ask to reauthenticate.
Tri Mar 31st 2012 5:39PM
I can usually post fine on the forums (staying logged in from last visit), but if I want to access my account info, I have to log in properly with the authenticator and all.
