Or whatever.
Shinae asked:
I wonder how long it'll be before we can race-change to pandas. Wasn't there a delay after Cata's launch before we were allowed to race-change to goblins or worgen? (I didn't take advantage of that, so I don't remember.)
You were allowed to race-change to goblin or worgen the day that Cataclysm launched. No delays! I imagine it'll be the same for pandaren.
Nyold asked:
Is the Pet Battle available in the beta at all?
There's zero implementation of Pet Battling in the beta right now, minus the ability to track wild critters. It'll likely show up in a later beta patch.
Batleth asked:
Have we been shown anymore of the Sha? I've seen pics of the "Sha of Doubt" and it reminds me a lot of Carnage and Venom in the Spiderman Universe: Sentient beings that can attach themselves to (and control) a host body. Will we have a Sha for every negative emotion??
There are lots of different sha! Fear, Anger, Doubt, and more. We'll see them in dungeons and raids. We may even see them in patches, judging by how much our presence on Pandaria riles these guys up.
Ace asked:
In the beta I noticed notes from the devs(?) that are always marked with "PH:"
I tried to figure it out but couldn't. What does it mean? You can see them in the dungeon journal describing some bosses (and even making fun of one that I saw, lol)
Placeholder.
Rodmin asked:
Quick question: upon logging, i notice two options: wow1 or wow3. What are they about? Server groups?
WOW1 and WoW3 are different "licenses," or permission to access different types of the WoW client. WoW1 is your normal WoW client license, whereas WoW3 is the beta. If you didn't have WoW3, you wouldn't be able to access the beta server list.
Skyrei asked:
Question: With Pandas being available to both sides and them being able to be most classes, do you think they will eventually become the overall most popular race?
Well, between the fact that both factions can play them and the fact that they're new and cool-looking, yeah, I'd say it's pretty much guaranteed. In The Burning Crusade, there were new servers that were 80% blood elf -- not 80% Horde; 80% blood elf. I'm sure pandas will be quite popular.
Gosten asked:
Do guardian bears and brewmaster monks get their own leather gear, or do they still wear rogue/feral stuff?
Well, if by rogue gear you mean leather gear with agility on it, then yes, definitely. Rogues and brewmasters will probably be looking for different stats, though -- brewmasters for mastery, probably, and rogues for ... who knows, really?

As an addendum to the "PH" answer, you'll probably also notice a lot of "NNF"....that stands for Name Not Final.

@Malnore: haha brilliant xD Looking forward to Blizz's april fools, they're usually quite good ;)
@Knob: Ahh.. I had been wondering what NNF stood for, and couldn't figure it out. Thanks!

Is there any particular reason Blizzard got rid of the "feedback" system for Beta quests? And along those lines, is going to the forums the only way to report bugged quests or provide feedback right now? I wasn't in the Cataclysm Beta, so I'm not sure if it was there but I definitely remember a response system popping up in the Wrath Beta after quests were completed. It seemed like a nice system that was a lot easier than popping out of game to go to the forums with a formalized post about a specific quest.
Narayana Mar 31st 2012 12:48PM
I miss this system. In fact, I think it was the Cata beta where I first saw it missing and got kind of frustrated because it felt like they weren't actually looking for my help as a tester.
I wanted to find an easy way to report that Dalaran Brilliance was missing :(

That might be my fault, after my 15-paragraph heroic saga about how I felt like a heroine now that I have trod the same path as the great Paladins of Azeroth ... collecting wolf poop just as Uther must have at my age.

I will laugh myself silly if in one of the Dungeons we have to fight the several Sha in the order of fear> anger> hate> suffering.
Knob Mar 31st 2012 1:13PM
We'll have to use our passion, our strength and our power to gain victory so that Pandaria is broken from the chains of the Sha.
eakin3 Mar 31st 2012 1:28PM
I'm also hoping for a short quest chain where we have to find six Harmonious Elements and use them to defeat a powerful Sha of Chaos. Voiced by John de Lancie.

Final Boss: Yogu - A Mogu mystic with lightning fast moves but who does nothing 90% of the time. I kid. I kid... I love Yoda :-)

In case no one got Knob's reference, he was paraphrasing the Sith Code. I upvoted him just for that.

Will Blizzard ever change the way you que for random battlegrounds by adding the option to select your role? For example, I was in Warsong Gulch the other day and had four hunters plus a mix of dps but no heals, and we lost. I'd love to see a design like the LFD and LFR so you can choose your role and have an even amount in each group.
Aitron Mar 31st 2012 12:47PM
Combined with that wish-list item, it would be nice to be able to opt out of a couple. I'm not a fan of capture-the-flag at all, so being able to exclude WSG and TP would be really nice. There are enough BG's at max level to justify this, IMO.
Chetti Mar 31st 2012 1:21PM
That would be sooo awesome. I'm not a fan of capture the flag types either, to be able to opt out would still leave plenty to choose from, especially with more coming in the expansion.
Vilhelm Mar 31st 2012 5:02PM
Didn't they give us the option to pick some maps we hated and never wanted to see in Starcraft II? Shows us they are aware that some players hate playing in some places. And yeah, I *haaaate* WSG and TP. Half an hour of begging your teammates to stop fighting in the middle, and maybe, I dunno, move towards a flag? And then we lose 1-0.
Blizz, if you are out there, this would be a huge improvement.
That, or put a 10 minute timer on CTF maps.
...and arenas.

Gosten's question, which was largely side-stepped (why list it at all if it won't get a proper answer) is, I think, "Will Bear and Brewmaster tanks still be forced to wear massive chunks of haste because leather gear is optimized for Rogues, Kitties, and Windwalkers?"
Revynn Mar 31st 2012 1:50PM
Well, Blizzard seems to at least -try- to provide options in their itemization. Ideally you should see, for example, maybe a chest piece with Haste and Mastery while another has Crit and Expertise and your tier has Hit and Expertise. The move to shared lockouts and 7 or 8 boss tiers made it a lot harder to manage that for Cataclysm, but hopefully it's something we'll see again in MoP.
However, part of Blizzard's goal with Active Mitigation for tanks is to make stats like Haste and Crit somewhat attractive, even if not totally ideal. We see that with Bears now as critical melee attacks proc Savage Defense making Crit into a tanking stat. How they'll pull it all together is still to be seen, but if it's done right you may not be cringing at the thought of having a lot of Haste on your tier.
Tora556 Mar 31st 2012 2:38PM
I think the better format for the question would be "will leather tanks still be forced to compete on gear with soon to be 7 specs while plate tanks only have to deal with three?" I was really hoping that with a second leather tank we would get separate 'avoidance' leather gear.
