Blizzard blog explains how to send or receive a Scroll of Resurrection

As an answer to their confusion, Blizzard released two detailed Scroll of Resurrection videos in a blog post yesterday, which thankfully answer some of the common concerns brought up in our post last week.
Our updated Scroll of Resurrection campaign is well underway, and many players are taking advantage of this opportunity to bring friends and former guildmates back to the game. We've noticed that many of you have questions about how the program works. We're here to provide answers, and one of the ways that we're doing so is with this pair of quick tutorial videos. The first is for those of you who are sending Scrolls of Resurrection, and the second is for those receiving them.
One video shows you everything you need to do to send a SoR to a friend whose time has lapsed, including instructions for claiming your mount. The other is a guide to accepting a Scroll of Resurrection, showing you how to get back into the game quickly and efficiently. As an added bonus, the voice of the second video has an excellent British accent.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!Filed under: News items

Has anyone else started getting phishing emails for SoR? I just got an SoR email, but one, I have no idea who this person is. Two, that email address is not my WoW address. Three, there's no personal identifier in the To: field.

I got one a couple of days ago. Didn't recognize the person, going the extra inch to look them on armory. Never been on their server, and have always been a horde character, never alliance.

The one thing I wish would happen is that the person who sent the scroll would receive an email saying that the person who got scrolled bought game time, and then proceed to walk you through the steps to claim your mount.

Used a scroll of ressurection on my second account about 2 weeks ago. I had recieved the spectral mount but the free 80 process isnt working for me. I created a level 1 pally chose him as the selected free 80 got confirmed. But when I logged in he's still level 1. Fast forward to today still level 1 and still waiting for the issue to be fixed.

I asked this a couple of times in the Queue, hoping I can get some confirmation here:
Is it true that a person can only accept one scroll of resurrection in the lifetime of the wow account? I read a comment on that post on wow insider where someone accepted a previous SoR in a past year, and was unable to accept the new SoR because of the restriction of one-per-lifetime, but I haven't been able to independently confirm that on any FAQ or eligibility determination on the official blizzard site.
-------
I did get a response in the queue by Drakkenfire, who replied thusly:
"My cousin has had two SoR done on his account. Once was by me, and then I think he did another one with his gf after the new rewards were announced. The one I sent him was back during Wrath of the Lich King, however. The limitation might have been placed since Cataclysm."
I'm hoping someone can corroborate what Drakken wrote. Anyone else want to shed some light on this?

My response is pretty much the same as Drakken's. I scrolled a buddy of mine around last october (so late into Cata), and then when the new SoR came out, I sent out the new one to him, and he was still able to benefit from this one.
The wording is pretty poor if you ask me, and I assume at some point a new version of the SoR will come out with a different "your account must have been inactive since this date". I doubt they would make you ineligible to receive another one ever again. (Might have it where you can't get another free toon, or whatever promotion they decide to go with, but still have the free 7 days, who knows.)

there is a secret that blizz isn't telling about the new SoR. and here it is...
if you went inactive ON march 4th. you might not be eligible for the new SoR.
I've been trying for about a month now to use the SoR my friend sent me. I opened a tkt with the support tkt system. After 4 CSR and posting to the Customer Support Forum and many, many calls to the billing queue (just to be told it's full and be dc'ed). this is the answer that has finally be told to me by the last CSR and each CSR has politely inferred to me to 'piss off and bother someone else'

Scroll of Resurrection eligibility was determined per account by an automated process that took some time to complete. As such, not every account was made eligible or ineligible at the same precise time... but they were made eligible or ineligible on the same date. Yes, that could potentially mean that some outliers exist. That does not, however, mean that the information posted is incorrect.
That being said, if you think you are not correctly flagged for this particular promotion, your only recourse is to contact a phone representative in our Account and Technical Services department. Yes, our handle times have been a little longer than normal lately; this has mostly been in response to a number of announcements we've made as of late, not the least of which is the very promotion in which you are so eager to participate. You have made mention of that in your tickets by informing us how much time has past since previous entries. There's no need for that, I assure you, and it doesn't actually bump you up any higher in the queue.
Once you are able to speak to a representative on the phone, they may be able to assist. I would advise presenting your case evenly and a little less abrasive. Again, I apologize for the handle times, but our representatives are pros. They'll get through contacts as quickly and efficiently as possible and hopefully be able to help you in participating in the Scroll of Resurrection promotion.
TL;DR: flagging people for the Scroll of Resurrection service is not an exact science, and if you are not currently eligible but believe you should be, the only way to get that resolved is by speaking to a phone representative.

SO.... now, it's the computer's fault and it was too hard to tell the computer to flag all the account that went inactive till Midnight. the computer was programed to decide for it's self which accounts to flag or not flag.
am I the only one that sees a bunch of BS?? it was too hard to tell the computer to wait till midnight? AND the only way to fix the account is to call in and MAYBE get someone on the phone, then MAYBE they can/will/might fix the problem the 'computer' messed up?

I sent a SoR and my friend accepted it. He also added a month of game time. This all happened 3 or 4 days ago and I still don't have the mount. Anyone know why this is?
lanseb Apr 3rd 2012 10:10PM
If the game time was added through credit card it takes 7 days to process.
robsmith77 Apr 4th 2012 10:54AM
I believe you only get the mount once the 7 days free time has expired and your friend has paid for an extra 30 (or added a game card to their account).
Ametrine Apr 3rd 2012 11:27PM
Anyone need a scroll sent to them? I really want that gryphon.
Nauscicaa Apr 4th 2012 2:58AM
You don't get the mount in the in game mail once the friend has paid. It is added to your battle.net account. There you need to assign it to one of your characters, once you have done that you will get the mount in the in game mail.
I think SoR is a really cool promotion.
However,
I have a friend who has been playing forever but very slowly, he has had an active account for years. At the moment he can't really afford the € 44,99 it takes to upgrade from BC to Cata. I would love to send him a SoR but can't because he has an active account. However my slacker friends that cancelled their BC account get Lich AND Cata for free! (and all the other goodies on top of that)

I would still see /levelup command (a free 80 char!) being implemented in WoW for say accounts that have more than 5 classes@85.
