Breakfast Topic: What's your favorite pet?

When the Argent Tournament appeared, I got excited at the pets each faction offered. For Alliance, I had access to both the Teldrassil Sproutling and the Dun Morogh Cub. While my warlock jousted eternally for a Crusader title, my druid was content to just snag the sproutling and the cub. Whenever she out being a bear, she'd have the sproutling out; whenever she was throwing heals, she'd have the cub running by her side.
Now that I have a second druid to cover the caster specs, my bear druid is a full-time feral. The cub doesn't come out to play anymore, but the Teldrassil Sproutling dances and sleeps just about anywhere.
On my lowbie Horde toons, I always get a Horde Balloon. There's always a Celestial Dragon by my guild's bear tank when she runs in for the pull. My caster druid has the mechanical bunny out, since she's an engineer who loves cute animals like Mylune. One of our moonkin hopes that non-combat pets will be nameable in Mists so he can name his always-present Moonkin Hatchling after his daughter. D'awwww!
With Pet Battles coming out, there will always be people hunting for the next best performing pet. But do you have any pets you're already partial to on certain characters for other reasons?

I use the Teldrassil Sproutling on my druid out of protest for the falled Tree form when ever I'm healing.

Same with me! The sproutling is my druid's constant healing companion. If I can't be broccoli, dammit, at least I can have some with me!

As a rogue, the wolpertinger is my pet. It's the only pet that doesn't give me away in PVP.
My DK always has Lil' KT out... At least until all pets become account bound, Then he will rock the raptor skeleton.
My warrior was a MC raider back in vanilla, so he has the Core Hound Pup.

All non-combat pets stealth with their master now.at
You can only see non-combat pets when someone is stealthed if you are in a group with them.
Believe me, I remember when they changed it: I had an RP character who was a non-combat pet, and it basically killed the character.
I've checked back every few months to see if the change was reverted or made optional, but thus far it remains in place.

The Toxic Wasteling! Of course!
It's good news, everyone!

My main is a hard core collector (182 and counting) so he has an addon that cycles through about fifteen of the rarer ones or personal favorites. Dragon Kite, Rocket Chicken, Celestial Dragon, Searing Scorchling, Moonkin Hatchling, Lashtail Hatchling, and so on.
But my alts generally keep one specific one. My paladin is all blue and gold and looks like she wishes she were in the alliance, so she keeps a Gryphon Hatchling. My DK is a big tough guy, so he has Deathy. My druid is a druid, so he has the Moonkin Hatchling. And for some reason I feel quirky with my shaman, her being a goblin, so she has Speedy.

Whiskers. I've had him going on 6 years now and despite all the other pets I have (and that I have spent money on), he's still my favorite. He's been wtih me since I was leveling my druid, to my first raids as a healer, stood by my side when I tanked Prince in Kara, and all the way through Cataclysm. Plus, there's something hilarious about a little white rat chasing around a big purple kitty.

lol, that just made my day.

Frosty.
Frosty, without a doubt.
Frosty has the cutest look, the best on-click noises, and he follows you wherever you go.
Just looking at him makes my day a little better. He always seems so amazingly happy.
The only pet that could possibly come close to Frosty would be if they had a duckling.
Because ducklings are scientifically proven to be cutest.

I'm not particularly great or accomplished at much of anything in WoW, but I do kind of pride myself on fishing. I have a collection of fishing gear, I think every fishing pole Alliance can access, pets, and all the fishing achievements. I sport my Salty title continuously.
In that vein, I really like my Magical Crawdad. If I'm going to take out a pet it's usually that one.

Grunty, Come on hes a Marine how could he not be tops !
Noyou Apr 4th 2012 10:25AM
Without a doubt, Grunty is my favorite pet. #1 he is a murloc. #2 he has animation. #3 he goes all Al Pacino with a big ass gun. #4 I will never be able to get this damn pet! :(

My Moonkin Hatchling for my Druid. She's a Tauren Boomkin, so it just looks like Momma & Baby running around Azeroth. I really like taking him to the Darkmoon Faire. I wish I could buy him a baloon or feed him funnel cakes. LOL

I cycle through pets on my priest, and through enchanting/engineering/Outland-flavored pets on my paladin.
My mage has a moonkin hatchling; she rescued him after the Cataclysm RP wise. My hunter keeps a worg pup around, as she raises worgs/wolves/etc. My little warrior has a destructive lil' Corehound pup.
I cannot wait til I can give them proper names! And share some of the random ones my alts have that my collector doesn't! >.

Spirit of Competition, means a ton to me because I was in China shortly before the Olympics, and it took me a while to get the pet.
rdavis1227 Apr 4th 2012 8:53AM
i only rock the Spirit of Competition

I'm partial to a Mechanical Yeti a friend made me before leaving WoW. I usually have a pet out that matches my current outfit. That's the girl coming out, I guess. ;)
BlueStarMel Apr 4th 2012 8:58AM
Mr. Grubbs! Watching that little guy do flips back and forth over your head, you cant help but smile!

While I leveled my Worgen Druid, she always had her Cenerion Hatchling out - that is, until she got exalted with the Expedition, and bought the mount. Now, she goes nowhere without her Lashtail Hatchling. That questline, and the penultimate experience of rescuing my little baby from the executioner? Oh, I love her so very much. :D
In general, on Druids I have either the Moonkin or Cenerion Hatchling out. My main, and my pet collector, is a Draenai Hunter. Her pets switch based on whatever I feel I might enjoy the most. Sometimes a dragonhawk, sometimes a raptor, always whatever I've gotten recently for awhile after I get it.
My Worgen DK has his Corehound Pup, or Ghostly Skull out at all times, depending on whether the Pup's noise annoys me that day or not.
Mostly I try to pick pets to go with my character's personalities. :)

Impossible to pick just one.
My worg pup pet was what got me started on pet collecting. I started playing during Wrath, and I mostly blundered my way up to 60 on my druid with the dumbest talent spec ever, a stupid leveling path, no gold at all, and no clue. One day, I was telling my friend how I missed my dog and he told me about the worg pup pet, who looks a lot like her. I was nowhere near the level to get into LBRS, but upon hearing about this pet, I buckled down and started to really work on leveling and actually started to do research on how to make it easier for myself.
As soon as I leveled high enough to pick up the quest to get the pet, I pulled up a guide on how to prowl through the entire instance and went for it. It was really silly. My heart was actually pounding as I got close to groups of trash mob orcs and they got that "Did you hear something?" look. But I didn't get caught once, and by the end of it, I had my worg pup, who I promptly ran all over Orgrimmar with. It's definitely still one of my favorites today.
