@clundgren Your analogy fails. This article isn't about competitive PvP, it's about being opportunistic. The rules of fair play don't apply.
The daggers aren't that good in of themselves. Sub just scales ridiculously well with Agility, as stat they have tons of on them. The procs and such aren't what make them good, it's iLv.
I didn't say Sub Rogues aren't suited for team play. I said, that the combination of spec, gearing choices (PvE gear to make you a very powerful glass cannon) and the hit and run tactics aren't very well suited for team play. If you aim for a high ranking you'd most certainly use PvP gear and emphasize control over burst damage. You can't really hide like that in Arenas and in BGs you're pretty much useless if you spend that much time away from the action. This tactics relies on having your CDs available to work, something that won't always happen if you actually participate in the goals of your team.
I also did mention, that there's problems with the class. I didn't go into detail, but since you want to misinterpret what I say, seems like its necessary.
- Sub scales too well with Agility. The iLv of the Legendary Pair is the main contributing factor to why Rogues are doing so well damage-wise. Not that the class was ever weak, but this is still an anomaly.
- Rogues have only 1 viable talent tree for PvP, and the main reason for that is Preparation. The class and its abilities are balanced around potential double use, which means you are gimped without it.
- Legendaries in PvP make the playing field rather uneven. Dragonwrath has probably been worse, since it's been longer in play, but the Fangs aren't making the issue any better. Rogues just happen to stir very strong emotions in players, so when they get an additional edge on top of their already quite strong toolkit... well, you get the picture. People who don't play Rogues tend to hate them.
My point wasn't that this is fair play. My point was, it's not meant to be. Players taking advantage of something that's intentionally designed into the game is hardly something you can blame the players for.
Also, it's still a very small minority who actually get the Orange daggers, the rest will have some other stages of the weapons, and as iLv is the major factor in why those weapons are so good, most Rogues don't get to experience this advantage anyways.
Now, removing Legendaries from PvP, I wouldn't mind that at all. That is a separate issue, though.
