The Queue: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Yep. It's another Awesome '90s Cartoon day. Enjoy.
John asked:
I am looking forward to the release of Mists of Pandaria. Especially the new Pandaren race. As far as new races being a potential new addition, do you think they will introduce any new races in future expansions or do you think this is probably it? I don't realistically see naga or murlocs being playable races. Something I thought would be pretty neat would be a character that could go from humanoid form to dragon. Like humans transform to worgen. Perhaps even a dragon in a humanoid form maybe. Just thoughts.
I'm sure Blizzard will add more races to the game eventually. When? Who knows. Personally, I think it's futile to try and guess what those races may be based on what's in the game right now -- Blizzard can add pretty much whatever it wants, whenever it wants.
What I'd like to see is some race of plant people. I don't know why. I have a bizarre fascination with plant-y races in fiction, be it myconids from Dungeons & Dragons, sporeloks from The Burning Crusade, or Guild Wars 2's sylvari. Plant people, please!
recneps1337 asked:
do you know what the new profession level is called like now how its illustrious_____?
In Mists of Pandaria, trade skills will increase to level 600 to a new level called Zen Master.
Dural asked:
Does WoW Insider plan to do another round of "[Insert Spec Here] 101" articles after MoP's release to catch everyone up on class changes and updates?
Yeah, absolutely. Talents and skills will be changing enough in Mists of Pandaria that a new round of leveling/101 guides makes sense to us.
Allenok asked:
What are the best heirloom weapons to get for each Monk spec?
If you want to level as a healer, use the Dignified Headmaster's Charge.
Updated: Sorry, my mistake. Monks cannot use 2-handed maces.
nicko666 asked:
Is there any news on a monk column/columnist for WoW Insider?
We haven't fully decided what we're doing about a monk column/columnist. We may try a completely different method of monk coverage and not have a dedicated monk column at all.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!Filed under: Analysis / Opinion, The Queue, Mists of Pandaria

OMG! Attack of the Killer Tomatoes! I thought I had DREAMED that show!
slim1256 Apr 4th 2012 11:17AM
Before it was a cartoon, it was a B-movie.
Spelio Apr 4th 2012 11:19AM
The movie was sooo terrible....that is is awesome!!
Elmo Apr 4th 2012 11:35AM
I thought he meant Protoss when he said plant people.
they do photosyntesise instead of eat thats why they dont have a mouth.
zackwbrandon Apr 4th 2012 11:43AM
I LOVED that show. It was ridiculous, but, nevertheless, made of pure awesome!

A good family friend was the Director and creator of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, I got to be an extra in the 1988 sequel (as a two year old baby). And he used to send us a Beta Max tape of each episode of the cartoon. We didn't own a Beta Max player.

Sometimes, the worst movies are the best.
"They're eating him! Then they're gonna eat me! Oh my gaaaaaaaaaaahd!"

The movie ROCKED, it was as bad as bad can be, which made it pure AWESOME!!
Attack of the Killer Tomatoes reference for the win Alex, you are now my favorite columnist :)

Yes! I loved that show. And the first movie. The second movie not as much, even though that's what the show was based on. It just wasn't bad in quite as good a way, if you get my meaning. I especially love Fuzzy Tomato... he's basically what you'd get if a mad scientist tried to turn a fruit into a Tribble.
RGSmith Apr 4th 2012 11:05AM
I thought I read somewhere that monks cannot use 2 handed maces.
evoxpisces Apr 4th 2012 11:16AM
Nope they can't. Staves, polearms, 1H Swords, 1H Maces, and Fist Weapons if I recall.
RGSmith Apr 4th 2012 11:19AM
Yeah. I've been hoping they release that heirloom staff that was data mined.
Bob Apr 4th 2012 11:21AM
The main Monk page on http://us.battle.net/wow/en/game/mists-of-pandaria/monk/ doesn't list 2hed maces as a weapon they can use. Is it one of those things where they made it usable in the beta but never updated their website?
Nathanyel Apr 4th 2012 11:43AM
Bob: Are you sure they can equip 2H-maces in the Beta? Because http://mop.wowhead.com/spell=106902 does not mention them.
Jason Apr 4th 2012 12:09PM
This issue of no Brewmaster heirlooms had been brought up in every Queue comment chain since beta went live. Not to knock the current answer (thank you for addressing it), but can you PLEASE verify that 2H maces do not work in beta?
Puntable Apr 4th 2012 12:01PM
I can confirm that I mailed my Monk the 2H heirloom mace and he could not equip it. That was the first week of Beta, and of course things change every day. That's why I don't like to confirm Beta info unless I have checked that very day to be sure.
Sorro Apr 4th 2012 1:15PM
If a monk uses a 1H sword, what's their off-hand?
Sorro Apr 4th 2012 1:16PM
By that I mean Agi sword, as recommended by Alex.
Sterb Apr 4th 2012 1:32PM
Going to be brutally honest. Other than the healer recommendation, that whole answer was terrible. Monks can't use 2h maces, but they CAN use 1h maces, which are a great choice for both hands of a DPS monk.
Killik Apr 4th 2012 2:25PM
Hey, one out of three ain't ba... Well, it's not fantastic.
As others have said, Mass of McGowan is your best dps bet. Monks don't learn to use swords until level 10 - and even then, the Thrash Blade is a lousy off-hand for obvious reasons.
