The Queue: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Yep. It's another Awesome '90s Cartoon day. Enjoy.
John asked:
I am looking forward to the release of Mists of Pandaria. Especially the new Pandaren race. As far as new races being a potential new addition, do you think they will introduce any new races in future expansions or do you think this is probably it? I don't realistically see naga or murlocs being playable races. Something I thought would be pretty neat would be a character that could go from humanoid form to dragon. Like humans transform to worgen. Perhaps even a dragon in a humanoid form maybe. Just thoughts.
I'm sure Blizzard will add more races to the game eventually. When? Who knows. Personally, I think it's futile to try and guess what those races may be based on what's in the game right now -- Blizzard can add pretty much whatever it wants, whenever it wants.
What I'd like to see is some race of plant people. I don't know why. I have a bizarre fascination with plant-y races in fiction, be it myconids from Dungeons & Dragons, sporeloks from The Burning Crusade, or Guild Wars 2's sylvari. Plant people, please!
recneps1337 asked:
do you know what the new profession level is called like now how its illustrious_____?
In Mists of Pandaria, trade skills will increase to level 600 to a new level called Zen Master.
Dural asked:
Does WoW Insider plan to do another round of "[Insert Spec Here] 101" articles after MoP's release to catch everyone up on class changes and updates?
Yeah, absolutely. Talents and skills will be changing enough in Mists of Pandaria that a new round of leveling/101 guides makes sense to us.
Allenok asked:
What are the best heirloom weapons to get for each Monk spec?
If you want to level as a healer, use the Dignified Headmaster's Charge.
Updated: Sorry, my mistake. Monks cannot use 2-handed maces.
nicko666 asked:
Is there any news on a monk column/columnist for WoW Insider?
We haven't fully decided what we're doing about a monk column/columnist. We may try a completely different method of monk coverage and not have a dedicated monk column at all.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!Filed under: Analysis / Opinion, The Queue, Mists of Pandaria

You're right, no two-handed maces. However, I stand by Dal'Rend's!
JKWood Apr 4th 2012 6:32PM
@Killik: I was under the impression there were no mailboxes in the Pandaren starting zone (much like the Goblin or Worgen starting zones) anyway, which would mean that you'll pretty much be heirloomless for the first ten levels anyway.

Next expansion ideas?... Go!
Haden Apr 4th 2012 11:33AM
Well the Burning Legion is a given! There still out there and need to be dealt with. Now whether that means we are going back to outlands ... or some new world is up in the air! Having us drive back a full on Legion assault on outlands then attacking and retaking Argus seems like a good ides. After that who knows, I'm sure Azshara is still planning on bringing Sargeras to Azeroth. We still dont know what the Titans plan is for us! Wheres Algalon? ........um..the..Emerald dream.. x_x..

Warcraft: Into the Underdark - featuring 5 new zones that are all a combination of Deepholm and Vash'jir. End fight: Team up with all three Windrunner sisters in epic battle to prise metal plates from the back of a gigantic Corrupted Anduin Wrynn.
Other than that, I dunno. Argus?
krisiteenie56 Apr 5th 2012 10:32PM
Im gonna go with something related to the Burning Legion as well. Blizz has said they wanted to revamp ol so it makes sense they would do a new xpac just to do that! The Emerald Dream is prob never going to happen at this point either cause the dream has ended and ysera is awake so i dunno why they would go back to it.
I read a very interesting lore specualtion article on here like 4 or 5 months ago that talked about how azeroth itself was an old god. I really hope the final xpac has something to do with that. Fighting against the planet itself could be SO epic! Like everywhere you went something could potential pop out of no where and you had to fight to survive.....epic.

I know! How about another island continent that we didn't know about or couldn't get to!
Maybe it's filled with an... I dunno... ancient African themed cultures... or something...
This stuff just writes itself!

I dunno why everyone thinks Argus is logical. I mean it's been a demon controlled world for thousands of years. If it's not blown up, I would think they'd outnumber all of Azeroth a million to one. Maybe a small expedition into it, but "taking it" seems very absurd to me.
Never really understood why we have to fight and kill Sargeras at the end of the whole game either. I like to think he's a bit out of any small group of people's league. I mean look at Archimonde. Took ALOT more than 25 of the world's best to stop him. How can Sargeras end up taking less?
Nevermind... I just remembered Green Jesus....I'm sure he'll make all the difference... -_-
Anyways, There's unexplored parts of outland, plus Wherever Alleria and Turalyon went. (Xoroth? Argus?) We're missing Kul Tiras, Tel'Abim, both of Azeroth's moons, the Emerald Dream. I'd like to see Blizzard continue to develop new lore in new places. Especially new worlds. Think how cool Nagrand and Zangarmarsh were when they came out!
Well, really I'd like to see is continued development in the old world, since it's a hotbed of potential lore and coflict. I mean really...things would be significantly changing at a rapid pace there. Old world zones are starting to feel small sometimes too... alot crammed into a tiny space.
But I don't think either of those are realistic goals without a redesign of the whole world... ala WoW2.

Revenge of the Lich King since we didnt really kill him
Puntable Apr 4th 2012 11:07AM
The last time I checked Beta, Monks could not use 2-hand maces.
Mycroft Apr 4th 2012 11:07AM
"If you want to tank, go with the Repurposed Lava Dredger. To DPS, grab weapons with agility -- I honestly haven't looked into the effect that weapon damage has on monks yet, but it seems like slower would be better. Go with the Dal'Rend's Sacred Charge and/or the Battleworn Thrash Blade."
Monks can't wield two-handed maces, only one-handed maces. They can't wield swords either. For tanking or dps, pick up a couple of Venerable Mass of McGowans

Just to clarify on what Mycroft said, monks can use the following weapons: Fist Weapons, One-Handed Axes, One-Handed Maces, One-Handed Swords, Polearms, and Staves (at least, according to the Blizzard Monk Mists page).
EdGesumaria Apr 4th 2012 11:17AM
Are you sure they can not wield 1-handed swords? I haven't had a chance to poke around in the beta yet, but according to the WoW website Monks can wield Fist Weapons, One-Handed Axes, One-Handed Maces, One-Handed Swords, Polearms, and Stave. Granted anything can change in beta, but everywhere I have looked so far has said they can still equip and use 1-handed swords.
Brad Apr 4th 2012 11:23AM
This is correct. The only 2H monks can use is a staff or polearm. However in the last set of datamining over on WoWDB there was a placeholder for a "Monk Heirloom Staff" no model yet and the icon shared the one with the Headmaster's Charge.

Cetha Apr 4th 2012 11:23AM
They can absolutely wield swords, as my monk on Beta is currently walking around with 2 of them.
Puntable Apr 4th 2012 12:05PM
To clarify, Monks learn 1H swords at level 10.
Puntable Apr 4th 2012 12:09PM
What Monks REALLY need is a Heirloon fist weapon. They look SO much better using the "punch" animations.
Nut Apr 4th 2012 12:26PM
Monks can in fact use 1h swords. I'm using DalRend and Mass of McOwen right now on my monk simply because I didnt have two Masses
Gossamer Apr 4th 2012 11:13AM
I still think we'll eventually see Quillboar and Furbolg as future races.
