The Queue: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Yep. It's another Awesome '90s Cartoon day. Enjoy.
John asked:
I am looking forward to the release of Mists of Pandaria. Especially the new Pandaren race. As far as new races being a potential new addition, do you think they will introduce any new races in future expansions or do you think this is probably it? I don't realistically see naga or murlocs being playable races. Something I thought would be pretty neat would be a character that could go from humanoid form to dragon. Like humans transform to worgen. Perhaps even a dragon in a humanoid form maybe. Just thoughts.
I'm sure Blizzard will add more races to the game eventually. When? Who knows. Personally, I think it's futile to try and guess what those races may be based on what's in the game right now -- Blizzard can add pretty much whatever it wants, whenever it wants.
What I'd like to see is some race of plant people. I don't know why. I have a bizarre fascination with plant-y races in fiction, be it myconids from Dungeons & Dragons, sporeloks from The Burning Crusade, or Guild Wars 2's sylvari. Plant people, please!
recneps1337 asked:
do you know what the new profession level is called like now how its illustrious_____?
In Mists of Pandaria, trade skills will increase to level 600 to a new level called Zen Master.
Dural asked:
Does WoW Insider plan to do another round of "[Insert Spec Here] 101" articles after MoP's release to catch everyone up on class changes and updates?
Yeah, absolutely. Talents and skills will be changing enough in Mists of Pandaria that a new round of leveling/101 guides makes sense to us.
Allenok asked:
What are the best heirloom weapons to get for each Monk spec?
If you want to level as a healer, use the Dignified Headmaster's Charge.
Updated: Sorry, my mistake. Monks cannot use 2-handed maces.
nicko666 asked:
Is there any news on a monk column/columnist for WoW Insider?
We haven't fully decided what we're doing about a monk column/columnist. We may try a completely different method of monk coverage and not have a dedicated monk column at all.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!Filed under: Analysis / Opinion, The Queue, Mists of Pandaria

Plant people, eh?
Zhaan, sexiest plant women ever.

Had a thing for meditating in the nude. And, uh, got off to sunlight.
Virginia Hey had to stop doing the role because the makeup was messing with her liver.

I miss Zhaan so much... Screw Aeris's sudden death - Zhaan's death still makes me cry everytime I watch it because she was dying and on her way to finding a cure when circumstance turned her dire situation into an ideal heroic sacrifice. I still wish they could have found a way around that makeup to keep Ms. Hey around - she was terrific.
Drakkenfyre Apr 4th 2012 12:16PM
Aeris? You mean Aeryn?
They did a miniseries to wrap up everything. They didn't die.
I won't spoil it for you, but look it up. It's called FarScape: The Peacekeeper Wars. It wraps everything up from the show. Unforunately, it did so so well there is no chance for a continuing show (at least as far as the story goes.)
Drakkenfyre Apr 4th 2012 12:33PM
Wait, wait. You meant Aeris. As in FF7. I wasn't thinking about that. I thought you meant Aeryn.

Since the new model for Valor use is "upgrade what you have slightly" do you think it would be possible to upgrade heirloom gear to have a max level of 90?
Once MoP hits, no one will have valor, so they can't immediately upgrade all their heirloom gear; and by the time you would WANT to spend valor on upgrading heirlooms, you would have no use for it (end-of-expansion lull) for alt leveling.
Shinae Apr 4th 2012 11:44AM
In Mists, Valor will be used to upgrade a specific set of gear, such as the new Justice Point gear. VP will not upgrade anything and everything. Heirlooms will not be upgadeable.
TimR Apr 4th 2012 11:44AM
I expect heirlooms won't be upgradeable. They are item level 1, and the upgrade system as it has been described so far upgrades the item level by a few points, and increases stats correspondingly.
slim1256 Apr 4th 2012 11:48AM
My guess: the upgrades will have a min ilevel requirement, like enchants.
Cephas Apr 4th 2012 11:46AM
You're right! Monk's can't use 2H-maces, that's why there's "Temporary Heirloom Monk Staff Name" http://mop.wowhead.com/item=79131
Velina Apr 4th 2012 11:47AM
I would love to see playable nagas and satyrs, along with playable demon hunters, added in a sort of "Revenge of Illidan" expansion. :3
zackwbrandon Apr 4th 2012 11:51AM
Folks always say Naga would be impossible (tails). I tend to think Blizzard could create a so-called half-cured faction of Naga to be playable. They get their legs back and lose some of the fins (making armor geometry work on the models) plus some new lore for the 10,000 year old race.
TL;DR - Right on Velina!
Killik Apr 4th 2012 2:29PM
My money would have been on a new 'leggy' form of Naga being introduced - but the new fish guys from MoP would seem to be that exact thing.
hicks Apr 4th 2012 3:03PM
One fantasy trope that's always true is that there's always more Elves. High, Gray, Wood, Night, Moon, Sun, Dark, Blood, Sea...
Hey, Sea Elves. Naga that have rejected the Old God transfiguration and partially mutated back to elvish form. Leg issue solved, plus they get to be green. The Horde gets those, the Alliance gets Half-Elves, because, hey, why not?
zackwbrandon Apr 4th 2012 11:49AM
Spar in Breath of Fire II and the little cabbage in Breath of Fire III. Still among the awesomest plan video game characters ever. Oh, and Plant Man in Mega Man VI.
Ullaana Apr 4th 2012 12:59PM
Swamp Thing and/or Man-Thing.
Pyromelter Apr 4th 2012 11:49AM
"We may try a completely different method of monk coverage and not have a dedicated monk column at all."
That... doesn't make any sense to me. Especially with a brand-new class, people are going to be looking for guides, tutorials, "101" type columns. I guess you could do all that without a dedicated columnist, but wouldn't that just make things more complicated?
Something tells me you guys will end up with a weekly column and a columnist, but I just find it strange that you are considering an alternative route, considering the fact that not only do you have columnists for every class, but you even have columns regarding specifics specs of some of the hybrid classes (notably shaman, paladin, druid).
Killik Apr 4th 2012 11:56AM
They may be considering a move to a role-based format, which would certainly make sense for tanking tactics etc.
slim1256 Apr 4th 2012 12:15PM
monk.joystiq.com?
MonkInsider?
Maybe they'll get their own SITE!
Dillioney Apr 4th 2012 11:51AM
Seem to remember someone mentioned in one of the columns that jewelcrafting was changing....any indication from the beta about what gems will be popular ..... Am i hording those inferno rubbies for nothing?
Killik Apr 4th 2012 11:54AM
At a guess I'd say "probably", because green-quality cuts from the new expansion will be more powerful and nobody's going to gem their gear while levelling. You might have a month when 5.0 hits for min/maxers to change their cuts - but they will probably try for epic-quality Cataclysm gems. Good luck!
