The Queue: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes
Yep. It's another Awesome '90s Cartoon day. Enjoy.
John asked:
I am looking forward to the release of Mists of Pandaria. Especially the new Pandaren race. As far as new races being a potential new addition, do you think they will introduce any new races in future expansions or do you think this is probably it? I don't realistically see naga or murlocs being playable races. Something I thought would be pretty neat would be a character that could go from humanoid form to dragon. Like humans transform to worgen. Perhaps even a dragon in a humanoid form maybe. Just thoughts.
I'm sure Blizzard will add more races to the game eventually. When? Who knows. Personally, I think it's futile to try and guess what those races may be based on what's in the game right now -- Blizzard can add pretty much whatever it wants, whenever it wants.
What I'd like to see is some race of plant people. I don't know why. I have a bizarre fascination with plant-y races in fiction, be it myconids from Dungeons & Dragons, sporeloks from The Burning Crusade, or Guild Wars 2's sylvari. Plant people, please!
recneps1337 asked:
do you know what the new profession level is called like now how its illustrious_____?
In Mists of Pandaria, trade skills will increase to level 600 to a new level called Zen Master.
Dural asked:
Does WoW Insider plan to do another round of "[Insert Spec Here] 101" articles after MoP's release to catch everyone up on class changes and updates?
Yeah, absolutely. Talents and skills will be changing enough in Mists of Pandaria that a new round of leveling/101 guides makes sense to us.
Allenok asked:
What are the best heirloom weapons to get for each Monk spec?
If you want to level as a healer, use the Dignified Headmaster's Charge.
Updated: Sorry, my mistake. Monks cannot use 2-handed maces.
nicko666 asked:
Is there any news on a monk column/columnist for WoW Insider?
We haven't fully decided what we're doing about a monk column/columnist. We may try a completely different method of monk coverage and not have a dedicated monk column at all.
It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!Filed under: Analysis / Opinion, The Queue, Mists of Pandaria

yes you would because WoW has to work as well as any of the other antics the baby ponies get up too.
I answered this with a fail comment that is later down in the queue.
My two main "ponies" have blue skulls and purple pawprints for their marks.

Q4Q: Could you resurvey the staff, especially the ones in Cata beta, as to their guess for MoP ship date? (I even think that a quick internal email survey and do an post monthly would be a quick way to get a popular article out.)
"when will MoP ship?" is unanswerable. But based upon experience you can estimate whether it feels 1 or 10 months away. Blizzard claims to be more agile and productive now although I am a bit skeptical. But you can say whether you think this feels like the completeness of the Cata beta ??? months before launch.
At first people were surprised and impressed at how much was done. But then on the last WI podcast they were saying Holiday 2012. With Blizzard sticking to the "no Ruby Sanctum filler content", I think player retention would suffer if this was it for 7 more months.
How much time does a raid leader have to keep people together and subscribed? If 5.0.3 comes out a month before FCS and a month lull before 5.0.3 is OK as everyone either chills or reads Beta info. A July ship (unlikely it seems) means a June 5.0.3 and needing raid teams/activities for another 6-8 lockouts. A November ship means 25+ more weeks.
Gosten Apr 4th 2012 1:20PM
Your timeline seems pretty close to mine. My current wild ass guess puts Mists in stores the 2nd week of August.
It's safe to say there will be no ruby sanctum. That was pretty much a waste of development time for them. Few people did that raid or enjoyed it.
The key to keeping your guild together is building personal connections. They'll keep playing if they enjoy spending time with each other even when there's nothing new to do in game.

I don't know about y'all (and I've already been on about this previously, so bear with me):
When 5.0.3 drops (or whatever they call it) - I'm gonna go wreck shop in old instances. I mean, I am gonna through every one and pull the whole damn place down on top of me.
Then I'm gonna AOE them all until they're D-E-A-D.
And then, oh, then... the sweet, glorious AOE looting.
I'ma try and see if I can fill up all four of my illusionary bags with one autoloot.
Boobah Apr 4th 2012 2:31PM
I'm just pegging the release at least a month or two before Brewfest. Brewfest is late September - early October, so that puts MoP at a July or August launch.
Noyou Apr 4th 2012 4:05PM
It's safe to say there will be no filler raid, because they came out and said there would be no filler raid :) There was a blue post right around the Mists press extravaganza.
As far as a prediction on when Mists will ship. Easy. Mists beta started about 3 months earlier than cata did. Cata shipped on 12/7. So 3 months earlier than that would give you approximately 9/7/2012. Which puts it in the 9/4 to 9/11 window. Before you say they won't release it on 9/11, keep in mind they released Cata on 12/7, which is a day with similar significance to it.
rhodo Apr 4th 2012 5:16PM
I think it's very unlikely they'll release MoP within 3 months of Diablo 3 - ie I'm saying 15 Aug or later, and probably not a lot later as MoP seems quite far advanced.
I think D3 is going to turn Azeroth into a ghost town for a few weeks.

I used the 1 hand agi mace for my monk on the offhand

(nerd hat on)
Fungi and plants are two completely different kind of living beings.
(nerd hat off)
slim1256 Apr 4th 2012 1:57PM
^ I don't believe that.
I mean, honestly - do you REALLY take it off? :)
Pyromelter Apr 4th 2012 2:12PM
Someone else made a similar comment, so I feel no remorse in repeating this to you:
Okay yes, the Fungi Kingdom is not the same as the Plantae Kingdom. No need to get overly-technical with the taxonomy of fantasy species minduim.
Dimmak Apr 4th 2012 2:18PM
I am using a pair of Battleworn Thrash Blades with crusader on them. Let's face 2 extra attacks is just fun! Though I also a pair of [Venerable Mass of McGowan] for tanking... or dps.
Gosten Apr 4th 2012 5:41PM
I've got a battleworn thrash blade too, but you have to admit the 1 proc per min seems quite low especially when you see how little damage it does.
Caliea Apr 4th 2012 2:41PM
Q4tQ: How do I delete a WoW Trial Account? It's showing up on my Battle.net account screen, and the drop down box when I log into WoW. I've never used it, just clicked the "play for free" button on one of Blizz's pages, and it created it too quickly! :)
Q4tQ#2: Why is my Horde flag yellow when I arena? Don't tell me "because Blizz wants it that way". I want a lore-alicious reason. Maybe it is a battle-tattered, sunlight-faded Horde red? And the Alliance master dyers can't make a blue that doesn't fade to green under those same conditions?
inkliizii1 Apr 4th 2012 6:36PM
Can healing monks dual wield? Because that would be an interesting change from the set-in-stone options that healers have today. It would be nice to have different options, the best part of getting /script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("\124cffa335ee\124Hitem:77190:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0\124h[Ti'tahk, the Steps of Time]\124h\124r"); for me on my shaman was that I could finally put my shield away.
roseclown Apr 4th 2012 4:01PM
I have heard that the pet achievements are gon come MoP. Is this true? And if it is, will there be other ways to geta celestial dragon? I have been working towards getting one forever, and will be heart broken if all of that was for nadda.
Killik Apr 4th 2012 5:24PM
It looks like the pet-collecting achievements have been removed on the PTR - probably in preparation for the new Pet Battle system and the new way we'll collect pets. We'll have a better idea what the future holds once that's in place.
It may be something as simple as revising the number of pets you need to unlock the various levels of the achievement.
ravyncat Apr 4th 2012 4:24PM
I actually made ponies for all my WoW characters. o.o
....what? >.>;;
My first cutie mark was three blue skulls from the frost presence icon because my main is a Frost DK.
My kitteh druid pony has mark of the wild paw prints. XD

gah...stupid comment system! >.<
This isn't as random as it looks. I was trying to reply to Gosten's comment at least one page back. >.>;;
