The Queue: Four capital letters
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mathew McCurley (@gomatgo) will be your host today.
I'll never get over how "girls sweat" is pronounced "gerschweat" in DVNO. It's been bugging me for years.
Also, why do they have nutritional information on the back of children's chewable vitamins specifically for adults if they didn't want me to eat them? I thought so.
Sacco asked yesterday:
I'll give Vicious Grell pets to the commenters who come up with my favorite Pokemon-themed Pet Battle teams in today's Queue. Go!
I don't care about your dumb favorites, Sacco. My team is going to utterly obliterate your pansy, Tyrael-led garbage patch team. Get ready to face the dreadful might of The Braggosh Wrecking Krew. With a K.
Mechanopeep, Zergling, Enchanted Broom. The broom doesn't even need to come out -- it's just for sweeping up your ashes, fool.
Where is my grell?
pattycakesbeau asked:
Has there been any progress on tabard storage or management? I remember Mat doing an article about tabards a while ago, but haven't really heard anything since. Will we be getting any solution soon? Or is there a source that would tell me which tabards I need to keep and which I can delete/sell? I've got storage issues in my bank and would love to know if I could get rid of some of them.
We have not heard anything about tabard storage or a tabard window for some time. Don't count the feature out just yet, because the teams are probably focused on getting Mists of Pandaria ready for the projected launch window.
One way that I've noticed is a decent way to see which tabards are one-of-a-kind but able to be recovered is go see that nice tabard lady in Dalaran or wherever there is a tabard lady. Or a tabard man. My tabard lady happens to be a lady. Yours might not be. I don't judge.
Tabard vendors have options for recovering some of the tabards that you've collected over time that aren't available in game after getting them once. On my main, for instance, the tabard vendor will refund me my Tabard of the Achiever, Loremaster's Colors, Tabard of the Explorer, Summer Skies, and Summer Flames. There are at least four you can toss, I would imagine. Also, look at the tabard vendor and see which tabards are available for cash money, 70 silver. You can rebuy those later.
Writing these last few paragraphs has escalated my need for tabard storage.
@NoHopeForSome on Twitter asked:
has the beta put to rest, in your mind, a lot of the concerns people were voicing when this expansion was announced?
Nothing is ever put to rest until the product ships, on time, and works on your computer. Until that day, I will never make an ultimate proclamation. That being said, in terms of focus, art direction, amount of content, and thought put into the stuff we have seen, yes, I think the beta has done that very well. Think about how quickly we all transitioned over from "What the heck giant press dump" to the much more mellow "Here's what's coming soooooon!" That change is usually more violent and jerky, but we settled in to a new mind-set pretty quickly, which makes me feel like the playerbase is more accepting of things and less is worrisome.
Just my opinion, of course. It all looks pretty cool so far, and the beta is a working thing, so now we just have to wait and see.
@jakearoonie on Twitter asked:
Am I the only one who is utterly baffled by all these people who are so pumped about the pet battle system?
It's an acquired taste, I'm sure, but the Pet Battle system combines two things that many WoW players really enjoy. The overlap in fandoms is readily apparent, and players across the board have been clamoring for more endgame minigames and options of things to do besides raiding. Alternate advancement is still key these days in MMOs, as it has been for years, and many people are just excited for something, well, different. The Pet Battle system is promising something different, interacting with the existing world in a new way that doesn't feel tacked on like the Cataclysm content sort of did.
Malex Shreebart asked:
Have you leveled your main to 87 on beta? If so, what do you think of the level 87 spell?
No. I should probably do that, right, Malex? Please don't fire me. Not that you could, of course, being Malex Shreebart and not my boss, Editor-in-Chief of WoW Insider Alex Ziebart.
