The Queue: Beta bugs and other such obvious stating of facts

I just wanted to announce that this is the week that heroic Hagara will be giving me the heroic Lightning Rod for my warlock. It's going to happen. Six frackin' weeks of this -- it's going to happen.
TJC569 asked:
If Theramore is getting destroyed in the MOP lead up / Tides of War, are Alliance Mages getting a new teleport / portal spell to somewhere in south Kalimdor. Are Mages going to have a new teleport to some part of Pandaria?
There's no indication that mages are getting a new portal, at least not yet. We haven't seen anything come up in the data files. We don't know exactly what's happening with Theramore, either. "Destroyed" is a relative term, and maybe there's something more to do there as well.
Drakonfighter asked:
Does anyone else feel like Blizzard has just given up on the default UI? Beyond adding anything, each expansion just sees the early part of the decade's influences stumble on. Even making the action bars moddable would go a long way to make me rage less.
The action bars are moddable. Just go grab any number of addons.
As far as Blizzard's "giving up on the default UI" -- no, not at all. Blizzard's been very critical of its UI work, and we've seen at BlizzCon multiple internal iterations. Even now, we've got a new pet/mount interface, new Dungeon Finder/Raid Finder interface, and small yet constant upgrades to other things.
Remember that just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not working. Blizzard needs to cater to a very large audience, larger than most of us can honestly comprehend. How many of you have had to make decisions that are seen by millions of people? Very few. This is what Blizzard has to deal with on a daily basis in everything that it does with this game, and it's correctly taking a very conservative approach with foundational elements like the UI.
Several asked:
How do I get past the bugged quest X in the MoP beta?
You don't! That's the beauty of the beta -- you're there to find these bugs and report them to Blizzard. Even if there's a serious bug that stops progress, your job is to let Blizzard know about it. Right now, there's a bug in the quest in the Jade Forest that disconnects you if you try to open up locked cages, and it's not possible to progress past that. The only options are to wait until Blizzard fixes it or go and find another quest hub and do those quests while running dungeons.
It irks me that so many people expect the beta to be perfect when they get it. It's not supposed to be; it's supposed to be rough around the edges and have bugs. When you sign up and agree to go into the beta, you should be doing it to help make the game playable, not to get a free game to play.
Sally asked:
Are the quest rewards class or spec appropriate? Will my leveling-as-prot pally have holy choices? Regardless, a good thing.
It's spec-based, which I'm not thrilled with for my tank and healer characters. What I normally do when leveling them is grab the last tier of leveling greens as their endgame spec; for example, in Twilight Highlands I'll get my pally all tank-related quest rewards whenever possible.
Update! As Cutaia pointed out in the comments, the current intention is for there to be vendors with green gear in the beta, so you'll have a way forward for off-spec gear. Everyone wins!
TimMacke asked:
"Safe Passage" not seen since April 4th. What's going on with the "weekly" comic?
Kelly is on personal leave at the moment. She'll be back eventually, and the comic will continue then.
Loli commented:
I would pick Patrick Stewart, I am not sure what he would do but I want him... in WoW....
If WoW were to ever jump forward 50 years or so and Anduin were an older man, Patrick Stewart would be required by law to voice him. It's an odd law, too -- in England, it was passed into law by Anne Boleyn, and in America, it's written into the constitution.
