WoW Moviewatch: I am the Warlock!
This video by the erudite Kid Sake could easily be confusing for many folks. It's somewhere between a parody and a love letter. This is what Kid Sake had say about it himself:
My homage to the metal videos of the 'Satanic Panic' era (late 70s, early 80s) where the devil and his demons were hiding behind EVERYTHING. After-school specials told us how evil DnD was and churches held record and book burnings regularly.Ultimately, I am the Warlock is nothing else if not an astounding display of Sake's skill at putting together the imagery and graphics of machinima. The video is smooth and attractive, and it flows incredibly well. Sure, I can see some folks being put off by the imagery, but the skill with which it comes together is remarkable.
What better way to pay tribute to the likes of Dio, Iron Maiden, etc then using Dave Grohl's love letter band to the metal of that period, Probot. And what better singer to mesh it all together than Jack Black.
