WoW Insider has the latest on the Mists of Pandaria!

The Queue: We haven't heard anything yet about the MoP release date

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

See, this is how it'll work: I'll say something in The Queue, and then as what happened to Sacco last week when he mentioned the WoW movie, Blizzard will come out with new news.

So when the MoP release date gets announced later today, you'll have me to thank, WoW community.

You're welcome.

Elyraldin asked:

How can bliz think it's fair to allow one person to control 40 toons in AV, and why is multiboxing not against the ToS?

So, a few things.

First, it's very unlikely that the person actually was controlling 40 characters. I know a few folks have done this from time to time, but be careful not to overdo things here. But let's continue under the assumption that it really was one person controlling 40 characters.

Nothing is wrong with it.

The Terms of Service, as clarified by Blizzard blue posters over the years, says that you need to be in control of each account's characters and not rely on a bot to control the characters. Now, if you press "1" on one computer and that "1" key press is transmitted to 40 other computers, then it's still you controlling the characters, not a bot. Given that, there's nothing wrong with it.

But let's step back even further.

The guy who is controlling accounts he's paying for, and he's giving Blizzard $15 a month or so to do what he wants -- he's legally not doing anything wrong. You might not agree with it -- everyone might not agree with it -- but it's Blizzard's call. And know too that they're keeping an eye on the guy; if they detect multiboxers abusing the system, Blizzard has been known to ban all the accounts -- and for a guy like this, that's thousands of dollars.

And yes, for the record, I used to multibox. I still do from time to time (on just two boxes), but I've not seen the need to, with how easy gold is to make these days. Still, at the end of the day, Blizzard has said it's OK in their universe, and that's the one we live in. If we don't like it, we can go elsewhere.

Coville asked:

Has there been any new info on the "Farming" in WoW? I remember hearing that we will harvest stuff and have a farm to maintain. Was this a joke or is it a real feature?

This is real, and there's been datamined info relating to it already. However, the actual implementation hasn't been released yet on the beta, so we don't know much about how things will work.

Stay tuned. Between the farming and Pet Battles, there's some really interesting casual content coming out. I'm super excited to see what Blizzard does with it, especially given the rave reviews I'm hearing about Pet Battles already.

Imccle asked:

So if pets are shared in MoP, will they only need to be levelled in Battles once? So I level my creepy crate to level 5 on my druid, he's still level 5 when I log onto my shammy?

Based on the current implementation, that's correct. However, keep in mind that this is the beta, and Blizzard could change things at a moment's notice.

KainPrestwood asked:

Q4tQ Do you think we will have an olympics themed event like 2008 when the got the tabbard and the spirit of competition pet?

Doubtful. We haven't see any datamined material yet, and while there could be something, there's no indication of anything happening.

Once again, though, I'll just reiterate my call for a Moose.
