The Queue: Hey Mat, will Katie own my gold, too?

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

Hey Mat McCurley,

I trust you're doing well. I haven't gotten to talk to you much the past month or so, given that we've both moved cities and are super busy with "life" and stuff. But I'm hoping that you can provide me with a quick answer to something I've been thinking about ...

Katie and I are getting married this Saturday. (Yeah, that snuck up, didn't it?) I'm wondering after she walks down the aisle and says "I do" if she'll legally own half my WoW gold, just like she'll own half my stuff (which is great too -- not complaining at all). I just want to know if I need to write a quick prenup about not spending my gold on things like stupidly expensive non-combat pets or black market items I don't need.

Hope you're doing well, and we need to Skype some time, good sir.

Adam

Mr. OrcChopper asked:

What's a good Star Trek themed team of pets to use in Pet Battles?

Oh, I love this question. Here are my three pets:
  • Lil XT
  • Voodoo Figurine (because it looks like the masks in the TNG episode where Masaka transforms the Enterprise-D into her temple)
  • Magic Lamp (because it looks like a dilythium crystal reaction chamber, sorta)

Kmjd asked:

Will we ever get bigger default backpacks? I mean we have had a 16 forever and it seems like we should be able to replace it with one of our choosing.

Blizzard has said it's something they'd like to do, but it's quite difficult due to technical limitations imposed on the very old base code in WoW's inventory system. I'm sure there's a way to do it, but the question is if it's worth all the data restructuring and the insanely extensive QA that would have to go into that. Right now, the answer is it's not worth it.

Remember that just because a fix seems simple doesn't mean it is.

Jeff asked:

When did they take Dalaran from the crater and move it to Northrend, and why? I think this would have been a cool scenario to play through. Perhaps in a CoT instance. Or maybe we will get some "throwback" scenarios going forward?

I don't believe we know an exact time, but we do know the general "before Wrath and after BC" statement. My understanding is that it moved soon after Naxx floated its bad self up to Dragonblight.

Maybe someone can provide more light here.

Brett asked:

is there a Tribble-esque pet I can use for Pet Battles?

Oh man, I wish. I look around for an hour, and I didn't really see a darn tootin' thing that matches up to a Tribble very much. Someone at Blizzard should add this!
