The Queue: No, this is the cute thing
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) has inexplicably danced her way into the column today.
So I decided in the interests of science to show my brother the cinematic for Mists of Pandaria. My brother does not play World of Warcraft, although occasionally he has watched me play from somewhere over my shoulder. He agreed to be the guinea pig and watched the cinematic play through. "So," I asked him, "What did you think?"
"It was cute."
"... cute?"
"Yeah. The thing with the stick was cool and funny. And it was cute."
I wisely decided not to show him the utterly adorable female pandaren dance, and I suspect I will leave him out of any guinea pig testing in the future.

If anyone in Blizzard reads this, it's obvious that Kara is on of the most loved, and missed, instances. Come on, Blizz! You've brought back Hogger and Deadmines. Why not improve/rework Kara?!?
Don't you dare listen to that guy, Blizzard. Karazhan still stands as one of the most perfect raids ever created. Don't you dare touch it. Don't you do a thing to it. Just let it sit in glorious splendor, please.

Q4TQ: Will Alliance and Horde Pandas be able to talk to each other in their native tongue or are the dialects different like Blood Elves and Night Elves?
Nope! The way it looks in game is Alliance pandaren speak Pandarian (Alliance) and Horde speak Pandarian (Horde). Same language, but they don't speak to each other. Basically, when the pandaren agreed to join either Alliance or Horde, they were told in no uncertain terms that by doing so they were forgoing all contact with any pandaren who had chosen the other side, even if those other pandaren were former family or friends. When you sign up, you sign up for good.
Andrew_Davis25 asked:
Q4tQ: Are all the changes to inscription (staves, new glyphs with the exception of monk, etc..) coming with 5.0.4, or is that something that is being held off until MoP releases? My gut tells me it's gonna be 5.0.4 because that's when we get the new talent system and new abilities and such, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it being withheld until MoP.
The changes to all glyphs will be in when patch 5.0.4 hits. That's when they're updating class abilities, talents, and various UI changes.
RichardW.Velliquette asked:
Is the Pandaren in the cinematic Chen?
Absolutely, yes. There's even an achievement in game in which you follow Chen's footsteps in the cinematic and fix the incense burner that the orc wrecked.
Richard6 asked: Q4TQ In the patch will hunter need expertise? Or is that when Mists comes out? If so, how much of it will we need?
All class changes will be in the 5.0.4 patch, and that's when you'll want to pick up expertise -- 7.5% of it, to be precise, and 7.5% hit.
KyleBrigman asked:
Pet Battles will be available on August 28th, right? Or did I just misread that?
Nope! Pet battles will not be available until Mists of Pandaria is released on Sept. 25.

Hello, I asked a question earlier about a vanity item and I did not get the answer I was quite looking for per say. I am going to try again with a link I am dying to know lol. There is a vanity item in mists of pandaria that turns the user into an undead and I am curious what this vanity item is called and where I can obtain this vanity item. Here is a link to a video I saw that will show you what I am talking about. 2:30 shows the undead form for the first time in the video.
That's not an item. That's a buff that comes from a dungeon! In the new version of Scholomance, there's an NPC called Professor Slate (yes, he is the Potions Master). When you kill him, he drops an Empty Polyformic Acid Vial. If you use it on the flask on his desk, you'll turn into the undead shown in that video. The buff is called Polyformic Acid Potion and causes additional damage to Gandling and his minions.
There's actually a dungeon achievement for having the buff while beating bosses around Pandaria, called Polyformic Acid Science.
@Andaelas asked via Twitter:
Friends have been out of WoW for awhile. What one feature should I brag about to get them back in?
I had a friend recently return to WoW after several years of not playing at all. The one thing that excited them the most was transmogrification -- largely because they had some really pretty gear from vanilla that they didn't think they could ever wear again.
@Exodiss asked:
Word is you can roll a panda w/o buying mop, you can't go to new area If true, how can you start a panda in mop starting zone
Here's the deal with that. The pandaren starting zone, much like all the starting zones for all the new races that have ever been introduced, is pretty much in its own instance. The goblin starting area is the closest approximation to this, because it's also an island all by itself. You cannot get to it by crossing the ocean; you cannot really get to it at all. It's not a location that you can get to without being a goblin.
Because of this, it is simple enough to change the requirements for that particular instance. It won't check for Mists anymore; it'll just let anyone roll a pandaren, regardless of whether they've got the expansion or not. They still won't be able to get to Pandaria, however.
They'll also still be under the same level restriction as anyone that plays. You will still need Mists in order to level from 85 to 90. And it doesn't work for new classes, either -- it's just new races. So you will need to purchase Mists if you want to play a monk.
@DwightCouch
Do you think Pandaren will get curious of fel magic in a future expansion. Are they curious creatures like that?
The pandaren have a long and storied history that spans 10,000 years. In all that time, I believe they have learned the wisdom of not playing with dark magic, and I doubt they'd be remotely tempted to even try to mess with it.
