Breakfast Topic What makes you keep something
I have a ton of characters scattered all over the place in WoW, some of them relatively new and some of them much, much older. The easiest qualifier for telling the age of one of my characters is whether or not they have a stack of Really Sticky Glue in the bank. In the very early days of the game, this quest reward wasn't soulbound; you could trade it to other players or stick it on the auction house if you wanted. And because of its use, PvPers wanted as much of the stuff as they could get their hands on.

This worked out wonderfully for new players, who often found themselves accosted by higher-level players in Durotar offering a handsome sum of gold for their Really Sticky Glue. Once the item was changed to soulbound, nobody really looked for it anymore. But for my characters, I always kept the stack. You never really knew when it'd come in handy. Of course, you can no longer get the item now that Cataclysm is here -- so I want to make sure there's a really good reason for me to use it, because once it's all gone, it's gone for good.

Needless to say, I've got really weird reasons for keeping stuff. And I keep the oddest things, with my own reasons to keep them. Some are quest rewards that I thought were particularly neat. Others are just items with funny names or books that I didn't want to throw away. Do you have any odd items in your bank? Pretty things, or things with unusual properties? Anything that you refuse to throw out, even though rationality would suggest perhaps you ought to? What makes you hang onto something?
