Well, if Mike Sacco can show off his Guild Wars 2 character, so can I. Behold. Really, nobody should be surprised at what she looks like. I roll the same short-haired blonde warrior lady with blue eyes in every single game I play.
I can't help it.
Any word on Blizz changing the Tir tokens so over half my raid group wont be on the saem token?
The tokens themselves are decently well-balanced. The spread on them is fair. However, Blizzard can't control the composition of our individual raids, so there isn't much they can do to solve that problem. The Conqueror token was always in significantly higher demand in my raid simply because of the class spread in our raid composition. If we had fewer paladins and more mages, it would be some other token in higher demand.
The only real solution to the problem is Blizzard's forcing specific raid compositions on us, and do you really want that? Probably not.
So what exactly does "hero class" mean, anyway? I remember when Wrath dropped, the frequent complaint that "DKs are OP" was often countered with "They're a hero class," as if that explained everything. To this day, I've never seen an explanation of just what being a "hero class" entails. What is a hero class, and are DKs still considered one?
The concept of a hero class doesn't really exist in World of Warcraft. If you had to give it some sort of definition, it would be a class that doesn't start at 0 and has its own unique storyline. Death knights have their own starter experience, custom-tailored to them. No other class has that sort of thing. Even the monk starts at 1 and experiences the world the same way as everybody else from the beginning.
I dunno if this is really a Q4TQ or anything, but if multiple WoW Insider editors are going to play/try out GW2, is there any chance we could get an impressions article or something - like, what's it like going from WoW to something like GW2?
Sure, we can do something like that. Maybe not a straight impressions piece, but we do like comparing/constrasting MMOs. We've done pieces like five things WoW could learn from Star Wars: The Old Republic. I may do one for Guild Wars 2, because the game does some things really well and other things really poorly.
Is there any indication that we'll have the new MoP log-in screen on Tuesday?
Yes, it'll be there.
