WoW Insider has the latest on the Mists of Pandaria!

The Queue: Hats in love

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is a firm supporter of equal rights for hat marriage.

In 1946, Disney released Make Mine Music, a collection of animated shorts set to music recorded by popular artists from that era. What many don't know is that this was a direct result of World War II. A ton of Walt Disney's staff were drafted, and those that were not were enlisted into making propaganda films for the US. In order to keep the feature film department alive and well, Disney released a bunch of these collection pieces as feature films, including Melody Time.

Oddly enough, Make Mine Music and Melody Time both contain some of the nicest pieces of short-form animated storytelling I've ever seen out of Disney. And that's your animation lesson for the day! Enjoy the hats.

Puntable1 asked:

Who's disappointed that there is no world event for this expansion? I didn't expect anything huge like zombies, but I did expect *something*. Maybe Chen with a quest to brew up some beer, or a Pandaran with a cheesy quest to explain the balloon and riding turtles in Stormwind. It seems we are getting nothing except for the scenario. I assume this is only for max-level characters as well. I'm sad.

The scenario is for level 85 characters, yes. And I do find myself a little disappointed about the lack of a world event, too. I understand why they simply created a scenario -- after all, this is the first time ever that we'll be able to continue playing the precursor event to an expansion. And in the long run, it's better that they focus their efforts on making the expansion that's going to be around for years awesome, rather than the world event that's only going to be around a week.

At the same time, I like world events. I like major, earthshaking things that get players worked into a tizzy. I don't think anything will ever quite top the zombie invasion prior to Wrath of the Lich King, or the mass-scale chaos of the opening of Ahn'Qiraj. I do, however, remember the server issues and lag and other issues that popped up with these world events too, and I don't really care to repeat them.

eclipticrift asked:

Q4Q: How do you go about choosing a "main" these days? Is the concept of a "main" even relevant anymore?

I think it's kind of a subjective thing. I am a raider, so the character that I raid with (and consequentially do all my farming and dailies with) is the character I consider my main. While I do play other characters from time to time, I don't really play them extensively enough to warrant them being anything other than an alt. I think that's the deciding factor for most people -- it's the character that you play the most. If you play a bunch of alts equally, then I guess you could say you don't really have a main.

WileySherer asked:

Q4tQ: Are the changes to guild rep/xp permanent, or are they going to go back to the way they were before once Mists comes out?

That's a really good question, and I wish I had an answer for you. I would say yes, just because they'd like everyone to get to level 25 with their guild. Maybe it'll slow down after you reach level 25. I really don't know! I do hope they keep it in place, as a lot of players will be leveling pandaren from level 1 onwards, and it would be a shame if their leveling didn't count towards the guild leveling process.

snappel328 asked:

Q4TQ: Is Deathwing still scorching random zones? I was outside Dalaran the other day and I caught something very very big out in the corner of my eye flying very very high up in the sky. When I pursued it, I entered another server upon exiting Dalaran (learned a load of skills all at once, that's how I can tell) and immediately lost whatever I had seen. Am I going mental, or what could have possibly been there?

You definitely didn't see Deathwing -- he was flying over Azeroth zones, not Northrend zones. It's likely you caught a glimpse of one of the nearby Crystal Wyrms that fly just south of Dalaran. They're pretty huge.

Wreckener asked:

Dear The Queue, I am a Wrath-Baby and as such I have not played TBC as thoroughly as I have played other content. I have also just finished reading The Rise of the Horde and I wanted to know if there was ever a moment in lore that Orcs and Draenai met in Azeroth? Have the Orcs apologized for their blood crazed genocide? Thrall himself seemed rather ashamed of what his people did in the past, is it awkward between him and Nobundo as they work together in the Earthen Ring?

It's not likely. Velen and the draenei had a very clear understanding that the blood elves that sabotaged the Exodar were not the same as those in Silvermoon. They even went out of their way to help the sin'dorei restore their Sunwell, despite the actions of Kael'thas' followers. It could be assumed that Velen and the draenei are equally as aware that the majority of the remaining orcs on Azeroth were not responsible or even present for the massacre on Draenor. They may also be aware of Grom's fight and the removal of the blood curse, too.

@Orkchop asked via Twitter:

Is there an app to read the World of Warcraft comics on an Android phone? Are they good?

Why yes, actually. You can pick up ComiXology for Android, and they have a ton of the Warcraft comics series for purchase. Some are good, some are ... not so much. The original comic series was OK if you kept in mind that it was a series written for comics. I highly recommend Ashbringer, Curse of the Worgen, the Warcraft Legends series, Death Knight and Shaman. And pick up the Sunwell Trilogy if you ever wondered why there is a girl floating above the Sunwell in Sunwell Plateau.

The thing with the comics is that it's hard to rate what makes a "bad" comic. Most of the time when I'm looking at a comic and saying "This was bad," it's because while it was all right for a comic book, it just didn't feel Warcraft to me. If I'm going to pick up a Warcraft title, it better feel like Warcraft.

@Hasteur asked via Twitter:

With the focus on more up front forms of communication (Twitter/Reddit) is there going to be an atrophy of the DevWatercoolers?

I think it's too early to tell, really. I do know that I enjoyed the AMA immensely, there was a lot of really good solid information to be had out of it. And I love reading developer tweets over on Twitter. It's amazing to see how many tweets @Ghostcrawler puts out. He's only been on there for a week and he's already racked up over 400 tweets of answers to player questions.

Jamie1 asked:

Why would anyone have a Peanut butter and Jelly sandwich? I like peanut butter and I like Jelly but well, Jelly?? In a sandwich? Jelly is meant for with ice cream and fruit, not in a sandwich. Crazy americans are crazy.

You have obviously not experienced the delicious joy of the wondrous combination of peanut butter and jelly. Although I prefer jam. Strawberry jam. ... I think I need a snack.
