Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.
I have a confession to make...
Day 1? I played Pet Battles. I didn't level. Now granted I only had a little bit of time to play that day, but I spent it trying to be the very best. Like no one ever was...
I think I just unicorned.
I personally don't understand people that just want to burn through the content, play extremely intensively and just skip all of the well-done content which has a lot of effort put in to it. I usually read all of the quest texts, stay very relaxed and try to enjoy leveling as much as I can. This can lead to a bunch of epic and heartwarming experiences.
It's really one of these things where it's to each his own. Some people have played through slowly on the beta, and they're going through the content now fast in order to start raiding or pvp (which is their favorite thing). Some folks power through everything now and go slowly on an alt. Others just don't care about the story and just want to play the endgame experience. Fortunately WoW makes it possible for everyone to have their way, and in my opinion that's pretty cool.
But on the other hand, I'm with you in many ways. I read through the quests, do a bit of side things (like pokemon... my god how fun), and generally try to take in at least a good amount of the expansion as I level. But that said, I do try to play as much as possible right at the beginning -- so it seems like I'm burning through stuff, even though I'm not and I just really enjoy it.
And as a side note, this year I have barely been able to play any Mists yet... my opera company I've got a gig with has their first performance last week and this week. Lots of time away from the computer for me.
if two people group together from 1 to 90 and one wears heirlooms will they both be level 89 before one dings 90?
No, not likely. The one with heirlooms should, as Jeff pointed out in the comments, ding around 35% faster (if they have all the heirlooms available). While I'm not sure what it would be exactly, I believe there'd be a significant level difference between each person.
Can I write a weekly article for WoW Insider called "F!@# The Haters" where I point out one thing that's totally sweet about Mists of Pandaria? I think it would take me about two years to get through the whole list.
I'm having so much fun it's almost physically overwhelming.
That column already exists. It's called Adam's Twitter of Stupid People Hatred.
Did they every add new character models? I remember being excited because everyone thought there would be new ones with MoP... did that ever happen?
Not yet -- new character models are coming sometime in the future though. Blizzard has actively said many times that they're working on them right now.
