The Queue Death Flu 2000
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

I've been waylaid by the Death Flu for a week now. In lieu of flowers, send NyQuil.

MikeAnderson asked:

Could you give us a brief introduction to the lore behind Shadowfiends? (Especially as concerns healing priests?)

The wikis have no information on the subject, nor does wowhead. And it seems highly odd that, well. As a healer priest, I get to--every three minutes--summon a misshapen, eldritch beast of shuddering flesh from beyond the veil, throw it at my enemies, and use it to suck out their life force. (Then, once it has outlived its utility, I banish it back from whence it came. No care or feeding whatsoever: just go.)

*Is* there any shadowfiend lore?

No official lore, really. Option 1: the shadowfiend is either a construct or actual living being from a different plane -- specifically, the unknown plane that shadow magic is drawn from -- summoned in temporarily (and at great effort).

Option 2: they're just a psychic illusion like many other shadow priest spells.

PhilipPickard asked:

Given that the Warlock quest for green fire will take place in the Black Temple, and given that Blizzard has said they plan on bringing back Illidan, how likely do you think it is that Illidan will be referenced or even incorporated in the Black Temple Warlock quest?

Well, he sure won't be alive. Since some of it takes place in Black Temple you can assume the quest will relate to him in some way, but that "some way" is most likely going to be "Akama is there, and Akama knew Illidan". I don't think we'll be seeing Illidan alive again.

Puntable1 asked:

How much is known (for sure) about the 5.2 Heirloom gear? Do you have to trade your old gear plus some JP? Do you have to re-enchant the new gear? Are they still limited to vanilla era enchants?

Yes to all three questions.

Loco asked:

Is Sha of Anger a fixed size "World Raid", and if not does it adjust automatically to number of raiders or does it have to be set manually?

The Sha of Anger is always scaled for 40-man groups, regardless of the size of the group currently engaging him. In patch 5.2, he (and the other world bosses) are "tap to faction", so you don't even need to be in a raid group to fight him and get loot off of him as long as you're the same faction as the group currently engaging him. He still needs a large group to kill him, though.
