I'm sure this has been suggested by a ton of different people, but Josh on Twitter last night (no, not that Josh, the other Josh) suggested Risk gets a WoW version made.
This needs to happen, and it needs to happen yesterday. I would play the hell out of that, especially if they made it available on the iPad.
Is it too soon for patch 5.2? (Hint: Yes) Delay the patch 4 weeks and work on the next xpac to we don't have DS again please.
I'm not sure it is. I think patch 5.2 is going to be released right in the sweet spot of when it needs to be; not too soon, not too late. When you think about it in broad terms, a patch needs to be able to fill content death and reinvigorate a playerbase. Right now the content is looking pretty old, and the playerbase itself is feeling a bit worn -- although that's purely my speculation, so take it with a grain of salt.
If WoW was delayed by four week, it'd have been six and a half months since any new raid content was released, and that's too long. If the patch drops at the end of February like planned, that's basically right on the money.
One thing to keep in mind -- you don't need to rush ahead to patch 5.2 raid content if you don't want to, or are not ready. There is nothing wrong with completing 5.0's raid content first. Nothing at all. Blizzard is not forcing you to progress.
Is valor getting reset? What about the items coming down to justice points?
I think we're going to see this questions in every Queue for a while... valor is getting reset, and current valor points are being converted to justice points. Current valor gear will be reduced in price, but not become justice point gear.

So I know we can champion factions in 5.2, but isn't that just going to eliminate dailies? Why do them if you can just run scenarios and dungeons all day?
It's not going to eliminate the daily quests by any means. If anything it'll just result in less being done overall. I believe you get around 1,000 rep from the scenario and heroic run, and while that's a leg up, it's not a ton. So if you want to maximize your reputation progression, you'll need to do the dailies.
I suspect that this isn't the final iteration of reputation earning we've seen either. I can see Blizzard making additional changes to it, either here on in the REDACTED expansion.
Cake or pie?
Neither. I'm going to get a little personal here, so you can stop reading if that's going to annoy you. Or don't. It's okay with me.
Anyways, still here? The deal is with me lately that I've got a problem. I've always been a big guy, but in the last few years it has gotten out of control. When I got married this past August I weighed 306lbs. For comparisons, that's about as much as the fattest monk you could make, and then some.
Christmas day rolled around this year and I got the stomach flu bad, very bad. Put me in the ER on the verge of collapse. They were extremely concerned with my blood pressure, so I went in to see my doctor about it after I got over the flu. Now, I hadn't seen him in about six years, so he and I were long overdue for a chat. The chat went something like this:
Doc: "You need to not weigh this much."
Doc: "Start tracking your blood pressure, change your diet, and shed a ton of pounds."
My high blood pressure (at 180/120 average over a month), combined with my weight and some other underlying issues meant that I was headed to the same fate as my grandfather: dying on the toilet.
So here I am now, six weeks later. I'm eating 1,500 calories a day, exercising, and on some lovely medication. This is a very extreme diet, but it's doctor monitored and I'm doing fine with it now. I'm down to 274lbs, and the last thing I want is cake or pie.
Now ... let me connect this to WoW a little bit. Is it the fault of WoW that I'm like this? No. At fault is my change and inadequate attention to the sedentary lifestyle. Before starting at WoW Insider I was always on the move, running around town, managing concerts and conducting business. I got my exercise and always had healthy food around me for snacks. Flip ahead six years later (I've been here for that long, by the way... I feel old) and up until a few months ago I was sitting at home all day working on WoW Insider and other sites.
That's what caused it. I take a lot of issue with people saying "Well, it's because you play so many video games that you got fat." And I have had this said to me in different ways (although always by well intentioned people). It's not because of WoW, it's because of my personal and exceptionally shortsighted choices. You can't eat 3,000 calories a day for six years when you work at home and your biggest walk is to the third bedroom at the end of the hallways. I never made the right choices in my diet and health, and now I'm frantically correcting for it in hopes that the damage I've done to myself is only temporary.
Fortunately, my doctor says it is. I'm turning 30 this year, and if I get this issue taken care of and under control, it won't affect me in my future. My only hope is that when I go to BlizzCon this year none of the WoW Insider staff recognize me.
Okay, ending this long diatribe. Time to go kill some orcs and eat some carrots.
