Why is the Queue late!? The sky is falling! What will I do at work!? I'm bored!
Sorry about that. Turns out time flies when you're making BlizzCon plans.
Weird question if we do end up killing garrosh in next raid instead of just leaving him hurt and in prison. Will we get the achievment for slaying the warchief and have it count towards For the Alliance achievment cause i want my bear mount
Almost certainly not. That achievement is meant for PvP invasion of capital cities with the risk of player opposition, not a PvE raid zone.
I just read "The Case of the Next Warchief" and was wondering...if Vol'jin becomes the new warchief, wouldn't Orgrimmar change a bit since the Troll section of Orgrimmar is outcasted? Wouldn't there be a need for a change on the Alliance side too?
As much as I like seeing updates to Stormwind, there isn't anything going on in Stormwind to cause that kind of update. Maybe something will appear there in preparation for the next expansion, but I'm not sure there's a reason to tie it directly to Garrosh.
Why is there always someone who spam kicks every single turtle shell on Tortos as soon as possible with their shiny boss ability button, even when repeatedly told not to in tells, raid warnings, says, and even priest life grips? It's like the Lich King, there must always be a serial shell kicker. Once we wipe and kick the offender, someone steps up and does it again. This is quite different from Ultraxxion, where people wouldn't push that damn button to save their life. Just baffles me.
It's possible they're trolls. It's also possible they don't know how the mechanic works. Let's be honest here -- if you had a button show up on your screen that let you kick a turtle but didn't know why, you'd click it because it sounds hilarious. Kick a turtle? Heck yeah!
PSA: Don't kick turtles in real life, kids.
Are there any plans to get a regular writer for the Monk class column?
As mentioned in yesterday's edition of The Queue, we aren't actively hiring class columns. That said, Chase Hasbrouck is still going to write monk content for us as he has in the past, but his schedule tends to be a hurdle for large stretches of time. He'll be back.
how do melee/tanks keep track of their characters in the midst of a mob with so many effects and stuff going on? I oftentimes miss out on bloodlust/timewarp going off or standing in stuff because I just can't see my character under a huge boss getting pummeled with spells. Is there a trick to it, or do I just have to do it long enough to become accustomed to it?
In my experience, melee/tanks can't keep track of themselves in raids. It's impossible to see your player character. As soon as you get in melee range, your character ceases to exist among the gigantic mobs and spell effects. It's one thing I really, truly hated about playing melee, despite otherwise loving my rogue. It's also one of the reasons I don't raid very often anymore, instead shifting to scenarios and dungeons. I like being able to see my character.
Melee players tend to rely very heavily on addons. Boss mods will alert you if you're standing in fire. Scrolling combat text mods will alert you when you receive an important buff. You should also try to keep your camera at a stable distance at all times, that way you can get a feel for which area of the screen your character usually occupies. That's about all you can do to help the situation. You could turn spell effects way down, but if you turn them down too far, you end up completely disabling many of the ground effects you're supposed to be watching for. Not helpful.
