The Queue: Breakfast

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) prefers her pancakes with blueberries. On a plate, not in a tub, thanks.

It's 2am, I am not breakfast, but hey a bowl of Golden Grahams sounds really good right about now.

Puntable1 asked:

They said the 5.3 "quests" were an experiment. Do you think the experiment failed or succeeded? I prefer the 5.2 Isle quests. I think killing Commanders will get old really quick.

I think it's really too early to tell just yet! But as far as I'm concerned, I like the new content. It's a different change of pace. There's no daily grind that I have to obsessively complete every single day. I can just take as much or as little time as I'd like doing the weekly quest, and call it good. If I want goodies from the rep vendor, I can go grind those out on my own time -- I don't need any of it, it's just fun stuff.

Honestly, I kind of like that this wasn't a patch of huge amounts of daily or reputation content. I needed a little breather from the rush-rush-rush feeling of wanting to complete everything all at once. I imagine for those that don't care for daily quests, it's nice not to have another daily grind. I'm pretty curious about what everyone else thinks on the matter, though -- so feel free to chime in in the comments section!

Straughtrider asked:

Q4TQ.. Did I miss something? On Tuesday I went to Cho. Did the two scenarios. Went to Durotar. Did the opening quest there, met Vol'jin, gathered his supplies. Got the quest to help the old guy up the hill. Got the quest to gather 150 of each supply. Went back yesterday, nothing new. The next quest in the story doesn't unlock until you gather the 150 supplies?

You didn't miss a thing! That's pretty much it for the 5.3 story content, as far as we know anyway. The 150 of each supply is a weekly quest you can turn in -- it's not a daily. Nothing is daily, nothing is required. If you missed it, there are a couple of other scenarios you can go complete -- Secrets of Ragefire is particularly interesting from a story perspective.

wrathofkublakhan asked:

When I upgrade my gear via VP, does my reforge follow in proportion?

Yep! Usually if I'm upgrading gear with valor, I'll immediately do a once-over of my stats and see if I need to do any reforging after.

Ron2 asked:

Looking back at Classic WoW (not that I was there), it seems like Ironforge was more of the Alliance capital than Stormwind was. When the war effort was going, players brought their supplies to Ironforge, not Stormwind. Ironforge had the best natural defenses for its throne room. Ironforge was the city that played host to a refugee faction, and the place where people went when they wanted to be seen in their tier sets and epic mounts. When do you feel that the focus shifted to Stormwind, and why?

When they added auction houses to all capital cities. Originally, there were only two faction auction houses -- one in Orgrimmar, and one in Ironforge. That's why people used to congregate in Ironforge, pretty much. Once they added an auction house to Stormwind, most people started congregating there instead. Likely because you weren't apt to accidentally fall into a cavernous trench while going from the bank to the AH.

TommySluder asked:

Q for the Q: Is there any kind of iLevel requirement to get the breadcrumb quest for 5.3? Both my hunter and mage got no problem. My paladin on the other hand has not. I even disabled all addons in case there was a conflict.

You need to be ilvl 425 to queue for the new scenarios. Since Cho immediately sends you to complete the scenarios as part of the lead-in material, I suspect once you get up to that ilvl, you'll get a note from Cho in your mailbox. Good luck!

Rrizzo asked:

Q4tQ: If a couple of friends and I form a group and fly over to a dungeon in Pandaria and go in and complete it, do we get any valor? I know you get valor for random dungeons even if you queue with a group of 5, but you don't if you queue for specific dungeons. How does it work for dungeons you go to yourself?

Valor is rewarded for queuing for random dungeons. If you have your own group of five people, you can simply queue for a random and take what you get. As far as I know, if you queue for a specific dungeon, or just fly on over and complete it, you won't receive any valor. It works the same for scenarios -- queueing for a random scenario will net you valor, queueing for a specific scenario will not.
