WoW Insider has the latest on the Mists of Pandaria!

The Queue: Six million vs. seven million

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) totally remembers her family watching this show. A very long time ago.

In the above video, you can clearly see that the seven million dollar man can totally beat up the six million dollar man. Blizzard has 7.7 million subscribers, so if they were all one dude in his 40's, I'm pretty sure they'd be masters of slow-motion athleticism, provided they had the appropriate cheesy sound effects, of course. Moving on!

Bob asked:

Q4TQ: After reading yesterday's KYL, I noticed a quick mention of how Azerothians would be the perfect people to enslave. Given this, and the failure of Wrathion's ultimate plan to unite everyone against the Legion, is there any chance that the next expansion will revolve around the Legion actually... winning?

Like, it could involve us doing quests for the Legion, as their slaves... it could have a lot of the "choose your own ending" kind of quests, where we either listen to the Legion or undermine them here and there. The course of the expansion could be... invasion/fighting (beginning) --> enslavement (middle) --> fighting back and winning (ending); or, if we really want, jump straight into the "middle" and start the expansion off enslaved, working our way free throughout the expansion's course.

I know it's a long shot, and at this point more me thinking out loud, but it did get me curious about how a Legion expansion could work and twist things around from the usual... Thoughts?

The naaru would get us first. I'm just saying.

szlifka asked:

Are there any signs of the Hearthstone beta? They said 2013 summer, and a release of 2013 autumn. Now summer is almost over, and autumn is coming.

I haven't heard anything, but I'm going to assume it will be Soon™.

RaphaelMoretti asked:

I love wPVP, but i hate being ganked. If i create a Virtual Server just to level up ALONE in azeroth, it will work ?

We do not get to create the virtual realms, Blizzard will be creating those. However, I feel I should point out that ganking is one of those things that comes hand in hand with flagging for PvP, or being on a PvP server. It's something that happens. If you like PvP, it's just one of those things you're going to encounter at some point.

Vryianthor asked:

Q4tQ: Which boss, and which difficulty, was the most enjoyable for you in Throne of Thunder?

Honestly, my guild just downed 25-man heroic Ji-Kun last night, and that fight was a blast. As a rogue, usually on normal modes I'm doing nothing but staying on the bird the entire time. On heroic, I have to fly. Which is great, because I totally love the flying/jumping/absorbing nest mechanics in combination with everything else. I get to use almost everything in my toolkit of useful tricks. I really liked it a lot.

Aubrey asked:

What's the least amount of time one could do the Barrens stuff in? I haven't been subbed for some time, but I'm possibly interested in coming back for that since it's apparently an exclusive thing. I'd only really be interested in finishing all the quests, as I already have my dungeon set and the pet will be obtainable later.

Just the quests? You could do those in an evening and have the title. All you have to do is go find Lorewalker Cho, do two scenarios, then go complete the quest chain, which isn't too overly long. It's not really difficult to do, and you even get some loot out of the deal.

EWOKinLA asked:

In the Log in Screen Tips, Blizzard refers to the game as WOW. If Blizzard does that, why does this website use WoW?

Because it's World of Warcraft. You don't capitalize "of," it's a preposition. We're all pretty ... twitchy about grammar and style guides around here.

segeiuk asked:

Q4tQ if i transfer my main to another realm will my alts still have the bonus rep from grand commendations on the original realms?

Absolutely. Transfer away!

the_DECk asked:

QftQ: Do you think they could add a minor glyph for Druids to allow their travel form to match their current ground mount speed, as long as they are not currently in in combat? Flight form flies at flying mount speeds, so why not something similar for travel form? Give it more use at higher levels.

They could do anything they wanted, realistically! But I don't see them doing that -- druids already have an instant-cast flight form, while everyone else has a cast bar for their mounts. Giving druids an instant-cast ground mount as well would be ridiculously unfair, not to mention a really lopsided advantage in PvP.

Domehammer asked:

So... with announcement of Naga having been a playable race considered in past I've gotten slightly worried. As a Alliance player I've gotten rather fed up by fact every playable race added to alliance has been a beast race... while Horde have gotten just pandaren as first beast race added. What is the Queues stance on new races? Want more animal races like draenei, worgen, and pandaren or races without animal features?

Personally, I'd much rather they revamp the existing character models than add another race at this point. I don't want to roll a new main, I want my existing main to look presentable, you know? Updated.

If I was GC I would simply avoid Twitter, forums, etc. There is too much scrutiny placed on everything he says. The major feature debate is a prime example. He got excited about something, put it on Twitter, and now there's wailing and gnashing of teeth because for some people the announced features are not enough.

Honestly, there's nothing wrong with Ghostcrawler being on Twitter -- it's nice to see the developers actively delving into social media and getting a little more information out to players. The problem here isn't Ghostcrawler, it's the throngs of people that have such an overbearing sense of entitlement that they take anything that is said -- regardless of whether it is simply a flip comment or a brief blurb about something the devs find exciting -- and immediately turn it into the promised word of God, one-hundred-percent verified absolute must-be-in-the-patch-without-fail.

Nothing -- and I mean nothing the developers say on social media should be taken as gospel. If you're doing that, stop it. Enjoy the hints, and don't have the temerity to assume that these hints and glimpses at development are some sort of promise made to you, because they aren't.

Enjoy the fact that the developers and staff are out there sharing information and interacting with people. Don't hold that information against them and start carrying around flaming torches if it isn't to your liking or if that information happens to change. That's the fastest way to chase the developers off of social media for good. Would you really enjoy being blind to everything that is coming in the future, with no word at all from anyone in development ever again? I wouldn't.

While you don't need to have played the previous Warcraft games to enjoy World of Warcraft, a little history goes a long way toward making the game a lot more fun. Dig into even more of the lore and history behind the World of Warcraft in WoW Insider's Guide to Warcraft Lore.
