Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.
We'll start off today's Queue with a question about catching up.
Not ketchup, that'd just be silly for a WoW blog to talk about.
I haven't played regularly on my main for about 5 months and I understand that I'll miss Battlefield:Barrens. I can live with that. My raid team and I plan to raid on the flexi option in 5.4 Should I be worrying about getting gear from Battlefield and therefore panic-like-mad or will I still be able to gain gear from other avenues pre-5.4-raiding?! I am tremendously out of touch with gearing methods or requirements. Any help from your lovely selves or the WI readers would be appreciated.
A tip o' the hat to you as well, good sir.
You don't need to be concerned with getting Battlefield: Barrens gear. All that gear you could get is surpassed by the gear coming out of the Timeless Isles. That's the place you want to spend your time in, and you'll have a good rate of return on your time spent.
Also remember that all pre-5.4 valor gear, save for the patch 5.2 gear, is going to be dropped down to justice points, so you'll have a lot easier time getting some decent working gear.
Can you also mail BOA gear cross server now too?
No, Bind on Account gear can only be mailed to characters on the same server (still).
Q4theQ: Have you guys ever met someone that recognizes you IRL?
I have, although I've lived in two college towns, which is prime realestate for WoW players. In Fargo (a city of around 100k) I was recognized a few times, usually when going to a more nerdy place, like GameStop. In Minneapolis (a metro area of a few million), the guy at the comic shop I went to recognized me and gave me a friendly discount. Apparently I answered a question of his in the Queue a few years ago, so that was neat.
Now on the other hand, we have had a few cases of people trying to get to know us IRL for all the wrong reasons. Matt Rossi alluded to this on Twitter the other day, but as a team over the years we've ran into a few real big nutcases. Ghostcrawler commented the other week that he's had death threats over this game, and from first hand experience he's not kidding -- some people out there are really unstable.
I'm not inclined to get into specifics, but suffice it to say, I have the makings of a few good chapter for my book I'll write one day on this site and WoW.
Icecrown was merely a setback. So was Dragon Soul. And Black Temple too. I'm sure Kael'thas is alive somewhere too.
