Random Acts of Uberness The lovely pandaren lady with the fabulous robes ANY
It's the times another player lights up your night with precise play, a wicked sense of humor, or unexpected generosity that your login on World of Warcraft becomes something to remember. That's why we're bringing back the feature that lets you send a shout-out or kudos to a fellow player who's made your day in WoW: Random Acts of Uberness.

Caught being uber: Hiyorin of Argent Dawn (EU-Alliance) So there I was! Fighting a rare by the western edge of The Valley of Four Winds on my level 87(?) rogue. And I am losing of course, nearly dead. But suddenly out of the blue comes a friendly pandaren in a set of fabulous robes! Within seconds, she has frozen the rare and started sending of all sorts of shiny magics after him! I keep my distance as the enemy is slowed, frozen and whittled down to nothing! Saving my life and getting me loot, for no reason, other than being kind! (Or so I like to believe.)

Thank you, Hiyorin, Argent Dawn EU, the lovely Pandaren lady with the fabulous robes. -- Anonymous

Caught being uber: Awesome tank in Pinnacle of Storms(US-Alliance) Unfortunately, I can't remember this guy's name or realm. I wish I did; he deserves recognition. It was late, probably about 1 a.m. or 2 a.m. Saturday morning. Queue into a fresh Pinnacle of Storms run, and all is going smoothly. It becomes apparent that one of the tanks is clearly clueless about any of the fights.

The main tank [remains] patient and we get all the way to Lei Shen. That's when the main tank tells the group he's already looted that boss this week. Great! Waiting for a tank at that time of night is nightmare. He stays ... LFR expectations are low enough where that in and of itself is kinda uber.

Well, we wipe. A lot. A whole lot. Some of the wipes came so quick we didn't the buff. It turns out the off tank wasn't just bad, he was also a troll. Ignoring mechanics, ignoring advice, pulling early. He was eventually kicked. Great! Back to the tank queue situation. Uber tank solo tanks the boss -- like a BOSS. We win!

Dude didn't have to be there. He put up with a troubled group, put up with wipes, solo-tanked the final boss, and he didn't even sign off in silence like most of the group. He thanked everyone. Awesome guy. -– Cnugget, Shu'halo (US-Alliance)

Caught being uber: The Barrens group on Baelgun (US-Horde) I'm a pretty casual player and only came back after a long hiatus three months ago or so. I've had a lot of catching up to do and had been busy getting the Eternally in the Vale achievement before the patch. I'd stopped doing the Battlefield: Barrens quest because of how long it took to grind it out alone; folks on my server hit it hard at the start then abandoned the place.

Saturday night, I figured I'd try to get one last piece of the reward gear on my hunter. I hit The Barrens, not looking forward to a weekend of grinding out the materials one mob at a time. Then I ran across Fallenrush. He invited me to party, and we started working through the meat camps.

Halfway through, we met another small group: Merlander, Lycandy and Abrakahn. We partied up and started a rampage through the Kor'kron camps. Partway through, Arbrakahn logged out and brought in his healer, Hinaw, and we were able to chain-pull the demolishers in the oil camp, greatly shortening our grind time. Within an hour, we had gathered enough materials for Fallenrush and me to get our last bits of gear. I had a blast -- no pun intended.

Only after did we find out that Lycandy had finished up her last quest that morning and Hinaw was only along to give folks a hand. Thank you for helping a casual out, and for making it so fun. /salute -- Tirrimas, Baelgun (US-Horde)

Send us your tales of uberosity

Send us your kudos and shout-outs for players who made your day! We know you can't always remember everyone's names or realms, and that's OK. Tell us what you do remember: what day of the week it was, what time of day, your own home realm, any details you recall about the other player, where you were and what you were doing in game. If the players involved read WoW Insider, we're betting they'll recognize your story!

Email your Random Acts of Uberness to lisa@wowinsider.com. Be sure to include your character's name, realm and faction if you'd like that to be published.
