Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.
I'm so excited about this expansion. Draenor looks incredible and I'm pumped to go there, meet the new draenei heroine, hang out with Akama ... it's all too much. My friends and I were watching the livestream and practically jumping out of our seats watching the zone flythrough videos.
Let's answer some Warlords of Draenor questions!
I've not seen anyone mention this at all. Do the orcs on Draenor know that Garrosh is not of their time, and his family ties?
Garrosh was conspicuously absent from the reveal cinematic, as well as from, well, anywhere else yesterday. We don't really have a lot to go on with him. My guess is he doesn't just up and say "howdy Grom(mash), I'm your son from the future, having recently been deposed as leader of my era's overtly fascist True Horde, and I'd like you to start a new one and punch all the people who were mean to me." Even Garrosh can probably pretend to be something or someone he isn't.
Kurtis Grove asked:
The whole time travel thing is tricky. Is this a new timeline concurrent to ours? How do they connect?
It goes a little something like this: Garrosh uses a device to travel back in time to Draenor, preventing the orcs from being enslaved by the Burning Legion. This creates a new timeline, decoupling it from the history we know. He unites the orc clans and builds a new Dark Portal that, likely with the help of his device, will not only travel through space but through time, with the first destination of many being our present-day Azeroth.
Michael Quinn asked:
Can you purchase extra Lvl 90 alts after first one?
We don't know for sure yet, but I'd be willing to bet it'll be a paid service past the first character. I know I'd definitely use it just to not have to level through Pandaria again. No offense, Pandaria.
the last 2 xpacs being 5 levels each, and this one 10, does that mean there's more content? Or just a quicker pace per level?
Likely a little bit of both. Technically there's no difference between five levels and ten levels but psychology; what matters is how long a player feels like it takes, and how much they feel like they're doing in between levels. Ten levels feels better, I think, than five does. With that in mind, it certainly does look like Draenor is going to be positively packed with content, between quests, garrisons, PvP, random events, and all the rest.
Steven S asked:
is Garrison going to be per-character or per-realm?
Garrisons are per character rather than per account/realm.
