The Queue: IKEA Heights
Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) wishes they'd open an IKEA around here. Sheesh.
Let's pause for a moment, flash back to 2009, and consider the sheer bravado of a bunch of people getting together to film a mock-drama in the vein of many a melodramatic soap opera. Not because of the story -- which is hysterical, don't get me wrong -- but because they decided to film the whole thing in a Burbank IKEA during store hours right under the noses of the staff. IKEA Heights, ladies and gentlemen.
tomfromhr asked:
When you see those little (seemingly) live-rendered cutscenes in Siege of Orgrimmar, often you'll see a group of adventurers (like right after Immerseus). Is that made up of your raid group?
Yep, that's totally your raid group! If you're raiding with 25, you might not see everyone in your raid, however -- usually the people closest to the trigger location for the cinematic are really visible. My guild used to have races right after the Zandalari Council in Throne of Thunder to see who could get the prime first spot in the little cutscene.

BlazeNor asked:
Have we or will we ever a direct encounter with a Titan? And will we find out more about the war between the Titans and The old gods?
I imagine we'll hear more about the Titans at some point -- the story is too interesting to just ignore. As far as meeting a Titan goes, we've never actually encountered a Titan anywhere in game, just their creations.
Unless, of course, the crazy theory I have about the naaru actually being Titan paladins that have mastered the Light in such a way that they've transcended corporeal form and become Light itself is correct. But that's just another crazy theory.
Puntable1 asked:
Have they said how they will handle faction reputations in Warlords? With dailies (mostly) gone, will factions be gone too? Will we kill thousands of some mook to hit exalted? Will we have to run Dungeons or Raids for rep? What model would you prefer to see?
I'm sure we'll still see factions in Warlords, but I have no earthly idea what they'll look like. Blizzard did say that they heard loud and clear how much people liked the story progressive style of reputation grinding in patch 5.1 -- but they also said dailies will be minimal at best, if not absent altogether. I doubt they'd go back to tabard grinding, but they've done so many different things with factions this expansion -- dailies, kill grinding, tokens from mobs, the farm -- that I suspect we'll see something cool come out of all of it.
Nativebrown asked:
With all of us merry adventurers and I'm assuming some of our leaders going to Draenor (maybe ala Lor'Themar and Jaina in ToT) do you think this provides a good opportunity for Sylvanas to hang back and strike or implement some scheme?
Possibly! We aren't really going to see much of Sylvanas in Warlords -- she's not even remotely interested in orc matters. She's apparently going to have a pretty cool role in Christie Golden's next novel, War Crimes -- maybe we'll be able to figure out a bit more about what's on her mind once that's released.
zengarzombolt11 asked:
now that WoD is revealed: is it the danger Wrathion was referring to? I don't think he had any idea that Garrosh would escape and start some alternative dimension thingy.
Nope! Wrathion is referring to something completely different. If it were Garrosh, he would have been far, far more angry, not to mention panicked, at the end of his quest chain.
MTA asked:
What's the ideal ilvl for joining a SoO 10 man normal? My ilvl is currently 547. Is that too low for normal or is that good enough to get in to a group? I have four piece tier set too (that might help a bit)
You should be fine if it's normal level content. Keep in mind, however, that getting in a group isn't just as simple as having the right number on your gear. For most guilds, they also require you to know your class, and know the fights -- particularly since the complete raid has been available on LFR and Flex for several weeks now. Good luck!
prudhvirazz asked:
I have been fascinated by Warcraft lore. I only know bits and pieces which is the summary put up on WOW website. I want to learn a bit more. I know there is a dedicated lore section on WOW Insider. But It is not in chronological order. I tried to get a hold of it but I only get lost here. Lore available here is sorted by popular character/races/organization/locations. I don't know where to start/end. Any chance I can expect a chronological summary?
We have a chronological guide to all the novels, manga, short stories and comics that have been released, that's a good place to start for fiction. If you're just starting out learning the lore, I might also recommend you pick up a copy of the World of Warcraft: Ultimate Visual Guide. It's an illustrated encyclopedia with basic summaries of everything from Warcraft: Orcs and Humans all the way up to Mists of Pandaria. It was written for people that are getting started in lore and are trying to follow everything that's happened so far -- and it's full of gorgeous Blizzard art. You can get a copy on Amazon, or check your local bookstores if you want to look at it first!
TonyMacFarlane asked:
I've looked everywhere & haven't found a definitive answer yet. Are we getting tabard storage? I know there's something about a "toy box" or some junk, but I haven't been able to read in a definitive "yes" regarding putting tabards there.
There isn't a definitive answer yet. It was mentioned as a possibility at BlizzCon, and it's something they've always wanted to do, but it isn't a confirmed feature of Warlords just yet.
wrathofkublahkhan asked:
Will we be able to start our Garrisons on day one or do we have to level to max before we can start?
You will be able to start your Garrisons at level 90. Whether you can begin them the second you step in Draenor or not isn't really known, but given that you don't have to hit level 91 to start them, I'm assuming you'll be able to begin them fairly early on in Warlords.
Zeppy asked:
It would seem odd that Thrall would not go back in time to assist us in this mission... how will he explain himself to his father?
Well, since Garrosh is going to have to explain where he came from to Grom and the other orc warlords, I don't think Durotan is going to be oblivious to this whole weird time travel thing. Of course Thrall wants to go back -- he never knew his parents or his heritage. There's no way he wouldn't take an opportunity to actually meet and speak with them.
Lostlinguist asked:
Question. Why does garrosh usurp the portal in our time and not right after the defeat of the old horde at blakrock spire?
Because Garrosh has a golden opportunity in front of him to go back in time and save his father from the fate that shamed and haunted Garrosh for most of his life in Garadar. This isn't just a revenge mission. It's redemption for his bloodline, by preventing its downfall in the first place.
While you don't need to have played the previous Warcraft games to enjoy World of Warcraft, a little history goes a long way toward making the game a lot more fun. Dig into even more of the lore and history behind the World of Warcraft in WoW Insider's Guide to Warcraft Lore.
