World of Warcraft has had the same holidays for a while now with very few changes. It's time for something new to fill in the months that have no events. For this week's Community Blog Topic, design a new WoW holiday.
My new holiday would occur in August each year and is called Pet Adoption Week (PAW). It would be a week of pet battle related activities.
Achievement: Pet Adoption
Capture one of each family of pet. Previous pet captures would not count toward this achievement; they must be completed during PAW.
Achievement: Critter Caper
Capture 10 different critters. Again, previous pet captures would not count toward this achievement.
Achievement: Fight your Friends
Because there seems to always be a PvP component, you would need to win three random pet battles versus other players during Pet Adoption Week. Choosing partners and battling each other wouldn't count.
Achievement: Beat the Master
A master pet battler NPC would be located near the trainers in Orgrimmar and Stormwind. He would have three level 25 pets that you would need to beat. Winning this battle would yield a choice of four new to this holiday pets.
Achievement: Save a Pet
As there also seems to be a mandatory max or high level achievement, there would be a level 90 boss located in a cave in Western Plaguelands who is mistreating pets. You would queue for groups to go fight him. Defeating him wins you a random pet from a selection of four. These pets would be different from the ones for Beat the Master, but would also be from this event only. You would also have a very slight chance at a cheetah mount.
Meta Achievement: Pet Rescuer
Completing all of the above achievements would gain you the title of Pet Rescuer.
What would your new World of Warcraft event be? Blog your answer and post a link to it in the comments below. Or, if you don't have a WoW-related blog, leave your response in a comment. Some answers will be highlighted next week.
