Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.
Well folks, I held out as long as I could, but there was a BOGO sale on Lego sets at Toys-R-Us. I am now nine years old again.
I have a two part question. When you make your character, it shows them in a certain set of gear. Are these gear sets obtainable? If so, where?
Those sets are usually riffs on existing sets (the warlock one is a retooled Nemesis, for example), but they're not available in the game, much to my chagrin. You'll notice the texture resolution on them is quite high, and the shoulder models are brand new in most cases. Sad we don't get to wear them! They'd make great heirlooms!
Are we still going to be allowed the option to use the current models of races or will we simply be stuck with the new versions? I am a massive fan of the "gritty" look and everything I've seen from the previews just runs completely counter to that.
You'll still be able to use the old models, if that's what you really want. There's a toggle in the options menu.
will the new models be pushed out to NPCs of those types in the world?
Yep, Blizzard has said as much. All of the player-race NPCs will get the new models, and some will have adjustments to look "just right" if they're major/unique characters.
I don't remember if this was covered in Blizzcon, but will we be able to move around garrison buildings or are they fixed where we initially plant them? It seems like a nice option to have as the buildings evolve in size and detail.
Yes, you'll be able to place them where you like and move them at will, according to the previews we saw at BlizzCon. Your garrison itself can even be moved to different zones, too. There's a garrison location in each zone.
