The Queue: Back in the saddle again

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Matthew Rossi will be your host today.

Just got my computer back. Let's celebrate with some classic Aerosmith.

Scott Leyes asks:

With ESO releasing on Sunday, what are the odds of Blizz doing a major news dump on Friday/tomorrow?

Man, I don't even know anymore. I'd like there to be one, but I'm not going to hold my breath in anticipation of it. If it happens, great, and if not we'll just have to keep waiting. It's kind of like when T.H. Huxley debated Samuel Wilberforce over evolution - the day before it happened, Huxley had no idea he was even going to be there. We'll get the info dump when we get it.

This is how I keep from falling down and weeping all the time. Blind, ludicrous optimism.

I will say, though, I don't think Blizzard had a counter-punch for TESO. They released Reaper of Souls this week, and if that's not it, then there probably isn't one. They're almost certainly not going to release a beta this weekend, and that'd be the only real counter-punch release they could realistically use aside from RoS.
TikGillis asks:

Do you feel monks will be out of place lorewise come Warlords. Or does the wandering monk holdup in your eyes?

Monks are as suited to the setting as death knights, really. They'll be fine.

I don't know, I'd love to see some classic WoW armor sets added into D3, maybe in celebration of WoW's tenth birthday. Dreadnaught for the Barbs, Judgement for Crusaders, Demon Stalker for the DHs, Shadowcraft for Monks, Tirisfal for the Wizards.... It could totally work.

I have a picture to show you.
That's the lady Barbarian from Diablo 3 in the Battlegear of Wrath armor. It's a skin for her in Heroes of the Storm. What I'm saying is, if you like the idea of various WoW outfits on Diablo characters, and vice versa, you're going to like Heroes of the Storm and I think you should pay attention to it.

As for your idea, I don't hate it. Playing the Crusader recently, though, I don't really feel much like a paladin - it's a very mixed bag between paladin and warrior, in my opinion. I definitely prefer the Barb, though, so I'm cool with them getting the warrior armor sets.

rjjagoda asks:

This might sound a little weird, but would anyone be upset if they reduced the amount of skill points for the next profession cap from 75? With the way that leveling recipes offer multiple skill-ups, it seems like 75 is now sort of an antiquated amount.

It doesn't sound weird, nor does it upset me, but frankly I would be less surprised if they made it 100 skill points for profession cap rather than reducing it from 75. I have nothing but a gut feeling to back this up, however.

Boddi asks:

Do you think we'll see "Undead" characters changed to "Forsaken" at any point? Am I missing a lore reason why they haven't? By "characters" I meant Players.

Forsaken aren't physically different from other undead. There's no lore reason that I know of to not change them, but there's really no reason to do it, either. Forsaken are undead. They're not the only kind of undead, but they aren't particularly unique. They broke free from the Lich King's control because his power was waning and he couldn't hold on to them anymore - any Scourge could have had this happen to them, and indeed, all forsaken were once Scourge save the ones made since, and most of those were made by the same Val'kyr that Arthas was using to make more Scourge as well.

Kadinkun asks:

Is there any point in stacking more crit on a Fury Warrior if you can manage to hit 50%?

Colossus Smash can also trigger Enrage, and it doesn't get the x2 crit chance that Bloodthirst does. Crit has a plateau of sorts once you hit 50% - if you can actually hit that in current gear (I'm pretty close myself with raid buffs) then you can relax and start stacking mastery, but crit stays good even past 50% thanks to Colossus Smash.

Zrg says:

My issue with the Draenei models is that all of the "original" races should have been debuted first. I mean we still haven't seen male humans, anything on the trolls, Night elfs, We have seen some pics of undead and tauren but nothing official that says hey were done. So I have with some difficulty understanding why they are working on BC models when they said they would take them into account after the Vanilla models were done, if they had time.

What planet are we going to? Draenor. Who lived on Draenor? Orcs and draenei.

That's why draenei are a priority - because we're going to be seeing a lot of them. It would look bizarre if the NPC's for the big new expansion were using an outdated model while the night elves back in Darnassus got a new, updated model. It's that simple.

And that's my corner of The Queue for this week. See y'all next Friday.
