The Queue: Returning to WoW, Titan is still happening, music while WoWing

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

Good questions in The Queue today. I hope everyone in the States is having a safe Memorial Day, and remembering why many of us actually have the day off.

Gavstar22 asked:

My wife and I leveled a few characters to 90 and participated in a couple of raids at the start of MOP, after getting sick of giant tentacle killing in Cataclysm. Now we are back and have no idea what to do besides killing elites on the timeless isle. Our guild which was running 10 mans is now us and our GM (who spends time running dailies on alts)
  • Can we progress legendary cloak quest in LFR or do tokens still not drop?
  • What's with rare troll elites in Pandaria?
  • Anything new with archaeology as I like the new interface?
  • What are the achievements needed for LFR participation?
So many questions ! Basically we're a bit lost at the moment feeling disconnected from what's happened.

You can complete the legendary cloak quest in LFR -- it's not restricted to normal / heroic raiding. Expect to run a lot of raids though. You'll need to be persistent and have a lot of discipline to get the cloak at this point, but it's still doable I think. Make running an LFR raid an after-dinner activity for yourself and the wife and I bet you'll be successful at getting your cloaks.

As far as the trolls romping around Pandaria, they're part of the overall quest chain and storyline that takes you into patch 5.2 and dino island. Another thing you should both do is run all the patch content, it's really pretty good. Timeless Isle isn't the only thing that's been added since the start of Mists.

Archaeology is a bit easier to level now (okay, well, a lot easier) -- a ton more fragments drop and the dig sites have more places to dig in them (since Cataclysm, that is). It's a good time waster. I don't feel that Blizzard has done anything revolutionary with the profession though ... they've added a lot of achievements and new Pandaria specific digs / artifacts, but that's it. They could do a lot more.

And finally, there's no achievements needed to participate in LFR. Just make sure that you and your wife and put out semi-descent DPS and know how to not stand in fire. You'll find the experience long and boring as other people learn not to stand in fire, but hey, that's the game.

Ausroyal asked:

Pretty sure they said they were canceling Titan and the whole team moved to wow development.

Just to clear this up (and not to pick on you!): Blizzard isn't canceling Titan. They just decided to move it in a different direction that required a reboot of sorts. So during that time they're redesigning things, they took all the people not involved in the direct redesign and put them on WoW. This is actually a really great thing for a game development company to do, since normally studios just lay off people. Good on Blizzard for not being like that.

Titan will happen, it's just taking a long time. Which really, given Blizzard's track record, isn't uncommon.

Valencemagi asked:

I'm fond of swapping out the music of modern games, and playing ye olde schoole tracks in their stead. Lotta early-mid 90's stuff. Hellooooo Megaman X series.

Who else does this, and what's your genre/era of music to swap out with?

I'm a big fan of doing this too. As to the particular kind of music that I listen to while gaming, that changes with the month. The one consistent thing, however, is my love of the Bach Cello Suites while raiding -- and especially raiding as a tank.

To me raiding is a very stressful activity. I try to always be on my top game and rarely let myself get away with a mistake. The one calming thing I've found is to have the cello blasting in my headset as I tank a boss for the entire raid. As the chromatic lines of music swirl I find my mouse and keyboard moving in double time with the beat; I can masterfully dance around my enemy with the skill of a Braavosi swordsman.
