Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is answering all kinds of questions today.
The above image is absolutely relevant, I swear. Let's just get on with the questions, shall we?
Qt4Q: Where is our poop quest in beta? Someone had to have found one.
I have yet to find one to play through, but I have yet to finish Frostfire Ridge. The only thing I've seen along those lines is one of Thrall's relatives on a very special poop quest of his very own.
... he's about as happy about it as can be expected.
Can we trade the perky pug and the molten corgi for a Maine Coon Cat?
We actually had one of those back in vanilla, but its name was changed to the Black Tabby. Part of the name referenced a real-world location that doesn't exist in Azeroth, the other part was considered a slur.
Do grom and durotan know that garrosh and thrall are their children?
From what has been released on the beta so far, Durotan does not. Grommash, we have no idea, because we haven't exactly strolled up to him to say hello or anything like that. I'm sure they'll find out at some point. Probably. We just haven't seen it yet -- it's still early beta!
When Wrathion eats the heart of the Thunder King, he sees 'millions and millions of worlds'. Does that refer to different dimensions of Azeroth and Outland, or actual other worlds?
That is an excellent question. I'd assume actual worlds, because Algalon says something similar in Ulduar, and it's pretty clearly referencing other physical worlds, worlds that have been destroyed completely. Azeroth and Outland are not alone in the Great Dark Beyond, there have been plenty of other planets referenced before.
Q4tQ: So now that Beta is going, what's a rough estimate for live launch of Warlords of Draenor?
Sometime before November 7. That's when BlizzCon hits, and from what I've heard it takes tons and tons of people to make BlizzCon happen, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be pulling people from an expansion just before it launched to go to a convention. I think we'll see it before then -- maybe September or October at the latest. That's my guess anyway, and I'm sticking to it!
When will we get the cinematic trailer?
For Warlords? Not for quite some time yet. Usually the full cinematic trailer isn't released until much closer to the actual release date of the game. I wouldn't expect to see it for at least a couple of months, probably -- but even that we can't really say for certain because a release date hasn't even been announced just yet. Maybe they'll release the trailer and the release date at the same time, who knows?
@gentlemangaston asked via Twitter:
Is the Horde less "Horde races" and more "Just Orcs (+ a Troll or 2)" in WoD? As a BE don't know why I'm there and should care.
You should definitely care, it is definitely not just orcs and a troll or two, and some very important blood elf stuff is going to come into play this expansion. Lor'themar is nowhere to be seen, but another really important face in blood elf lore is there.
what is your favorite non-playable race in the game?(any kind of race)
The Titans, followed closely by the naaru, because both of them represent gigantic mysteries that have yet to be unraveled. I like unraveling mysteries.
does the current status of Stromgarde in game reflect what is happening in-world? What is the opportunity for that region?
There is nothing going on with Stromgarde. There likely will never be anything going on with Stromgarde, at least not this expansion or the next. The region wasn't really touched by the Cataclysm revamp, unfortunately, so there isn't exactly a lot of new story to be found. Which is a pity, because Stromgarde and its history are really cool, and it's high time something happened out there.
