When you lose control and you got no soul
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
Anyway, let's answer some questions in this there Queue. What's that? There are no questions, just people talking about their favorite fantasy novels or movies or games?
QfQ: With the hybrid "gear tax" disappearing in WoD... what incentive is there to roll a pure dps class? I mean, I've mained a lock since BC... but considering I can do roughly the same work in WoD and be able to not only DPS, but also heal (with a priest)... it's hard for me to justify sticking with it. I mean, sure there's nostalgia... but beyond that... the optional utility is hard to pass up. What are you thoughts?
Do you want to heal?
Every single time I've been in a guild, I've always ended up tanking, even when I joined as pure DPS, because warriors can tank and DPS. Druids and monks can tank, DPS and heal - guess which roles are the most represented for them? (Hint - it's not their DPS specs.) If you want to tank or heal, then by all means, play a hybrid capable of filling those roles.
If you want to be sure that, when you join a guild, you won't ever be asked to tank and/or heal, roll a pure DPS. What you call optional I call eventually mandatory. The longer you play a class that can do a role other than DPS, the higher the likelihood that you will be asked to do it. If that's what you're looking for, by all means, play a hybrid. If you want to be a shadow priest and nothing but a shadow priest, you are in for a lot of cajoling.
And if you're just a solo player or a five man player of a PvPer, then I think warlock is a very attractive option.
What new Garrison building, or perk to an existing Garrison building, would you like to see added? I'm asking softball questions so they have something to answer tomorrow, since everyone else is just waxing nostalgic about fantasy.
You have no idea how much I appreciate that, Puntable1.
I would like to see a slot for a sanctuary, like a private retreat customized to your character's race. So if you were playing an orc, you could get a special orcish retreat, forsaken would get something like those houses in Tarren Mill, tauren would get something akin to the structures in Thunder Bluff, etc.
Do you think it was a good idea for Blizzard to acknowledge the DDoS attacks?
Yup, sure do.
jpec07 also asks:
Q4tQ: We've heard that Blizzard wants to enhance the Transmog system to make it so that it will emphasize the collection aspects of the game. What do you think that will look like, and how will it play out?
For starters I hope they steal the Diablo III transmog system and implement some version of it. Hopefully a slightly less expensive version of it. Then I hope they give us a transmog hall at the Garrison that lets us display transmog sets on dummies, and then I want them to put a lot more purely cosmetic stuff out there for us to collect. That would all be cool for starters. Finally, I'd love it if they'd add something that let us collect transmog looks on gear that only exists on NPC's in the game, for instance this sword vrykul mobs in Ulduar use.
This is not exactly a WoW-related question, but since the comments below discuss "how I started fantasy" I thought it could be a fun thing. So:
Wich one of you roleplaying characters, if you ever have roleplayed (either pen and paper or live or indeed on a WoW RP server) is your favourite?
In WoW it's a tossup between my draenei warrior and my tauren warrior. My draenei is ancient. He's so old that he remembers leaving Argus. One of his face tendrils got cut off. He's been fighting and getting so badly beaten up that they have to put him in stasis to heal him over and over again throughout draenei history - he barely remembers Draenor, since it was just one of many worlds they ended up on while trying to escape the Legion. He's bitter, cynical, jaded and very taciturn. When confronted by the impending end of the entire world, his response was simply No.
Meanwhile, my tauren is an incredibly friendly and concerned fellow, who can't help but think of orcs as little green fellas who need help, trolls as blue fellas that need help, forsaken as dead fellas that need help, blood elves as tiny little fellas that need help, and goblins as monsters who strip mine the Earth Mother and need to be carefully watched. He's very shy around tauren ladies, but can't really determine if, say, an orc is male or female. He tends to talk to members of other Horde races like they're slow children.
Outside of WoW, my favorite is Andak the Wolf, who once burned down an entire undead forest in order to destroy the lich inside. Andak earned the name "Captain Pragmatism" and on several occasions my DM said that he thought Andak was the best presentation of neutral good he'd ever seen.
