Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.
I'm thinking we should rename the Queue to "We all have different opinions and that's ok."
Are we going to be able to re-customize our toons once Warlords hit? I'm afraid that even though they say the new models are going to reflect a lot of the old model features, I won't like what my character is going to look like. I don't have beta to play around with the features either. I'd hate to have to pay the $25-ish + fee for re-customization.
Blizzard has, unfortunately, said that free recustomization will not be an option.
I personally think this is a huge mistake, and one that could have been done very easily for Blizzard. There are so many ways this could have happened (enabling it on characters, sending around a few coupon codes to use, etc...) that for it not to happen is more of a disservice than anything else. Blizzard could have created a lot of goodwill by allowing this, and instead they're setting up a situation for people to be upset.
I don't believe it's a good thing for an expansion to start off with people being annoyed the moment they log in. This expansion must be set up for success, and these kinds of decisions set it up for failure.
is there a legendary quest on beta? If so, details?
The legendary quest items have appeared in the beta's item database, but the quest chain isn't there yet. I wouldn't expect it to be added in until the last minute -- or perhaps even at release. I fully expect the whole chain to carry out like the Black Prince stuff did; namely because Blizzard said they were pretty happy with it all and they wanted to continue it, more or less.
I got invited to the Cataclysm and Mists betas pretty early on, but I'm still not in the WoD beta, and it's almost over, making me strongly believe that I won't get invited at all this time around (despite playing almost non-stop since BC -- and they said that they were targeting veteran players with invites).
What gives? RNG sucks? Blizzard doesn't love me anymore? Something else?
I actually didn't want to spoil content for myself this time around, but I really wanted to see how my characters would look with the new models (and provide feedback on the changes).
It's just the RNG, trust me. The only people that get in early are press and friends of Blizzard people -- and even then there's a queue for those people (and as press, we only get in because we share content with millions of people as part of our job, aka: livelihood).
Just keep waiting, I suspect Blizzard will open the flood gates soon as they normally do towards the end of a beta. There's not a whole lot of reason for them not to at this point; as long as their beta servers can handle the load, it's a great way to some very live-like testing done.
And if you're still subscribed to the game, Blizzard loves you a lot.
