The Queue: Soloing old raids, character models in 6.0.2, Brewfest mounts, cooking, and the buff

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.
Let's all take a minute and be thankful for the small things in life, like rolling a new character and being completely alone in the zone to kill all those boars by yourself.
Wooo...
Alexander asked:
QFTQ, or anyone else who can answer: as a Pandaria heard lvl 90, is it possible to solo Wrath and Cataclysm raids? More importantly for me, anyway, is it possible with an enhancement shaman? I know plate classes have an easier time of it, especially pallys and DKs with their self healing. But shaman aren't too squishy and I have self healing too, so idk. halp!
It's possible, especially for Wrath content. Cataclysm raids are probably a no-go, for the most part. There are some fights that are just going to be impossible to do on your own, and that's okay -- a little bit of advertising in trade chat will get you a few people to join and you'll be more than set.
Keep in mind that gear is a huge factor, and your exact class also plays a major part. Shamans are kinda squishy, to be honest. So even though you can heal your way out of most situations, it's pretty easy to die quickly. Paladins, druids, and hunters are the best classes to solo raids with -- all are able to either tank and heal themselves constantly, or in the case of the hunter, just heal the pet.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's hunters out there that can solo all Cataclysm raid content. There are some seriously good players that can take that class to the extreme in very impressive ways.
Rufus asked:
Folks who are on the 6.0.2 test realm - how do your characters look compared to old style? Is it good?
They look pretty amazing! I really think Blizzard knocked them out of the park and I'm sure that the vast majority of people will like them.
I'm also very glad Blizzard has an in-game option to redo the character looks. Kudos on them for listening to the community.
Grish asked:
Did they increase the drop rate for the Brewfest mounts? I got a 2nd Ram on Saturday and I got the Kodo today...
Not that I'm aware of. I think you're just getting lucky with the RNG god. Did you sacrifice a gnome or something?
Eliza asked:
During WoD, will there be any changes to how we can level cooking through its Pandaria stage?
From what, skill level 545 or so, it takes a buttload of veggies to get it up to 600. Now that 90 won't be the cap and people won't hang out to work on their farms, will that be a major disadvantage to leveling cooking on alts?
There's not any changes, but keep in mind that you don't need to level up each school of cooking in order to enter WoD level cooking. The chain to get to the max level cooking skill in Mists is super easy, and I suspect that Blizzard is going to keep it that way.
Orrine asked:
Can you turn off squish compensation buff in old raids and dungeons? I want to be able to tun raids with friends from time to time without oneshotting bosses
I haven't run old content with the buff active, but the idea behind the buff is that it'd prevent the mechanics from overpowering the new gear curves. That means if you don't want to die when just walking into the place, you'll want the buff on.
