The Queue: The portal is back, NPC auras, undelete, gear, and

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the
World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

Well yesterday was certainly fun. I saw this for the first time in ever. WoW... clearly dead. Clearly.

MusedMoose asked:

Is anyone else ridiculously glad to have the Dark Portal as the login screen again? I didn't realize how much I'd missed it until it showed up again. There's just something so uniquely WARCRAFT about it. {◕ ◡ ◕}

I'm going to be honest, when I logged in I just sat at the loading screen for a minute and looked at the damn thing. It's just beautiful. I mean, really, there's nothing more WARCRAFT than a gigantic portal spilling out evil onto the blasted lands where it appeared.

The screen reminded me of Burning Crusade, of the raiding and guildmates I had, of the late night and early mornings of Illidan, Archimonde, and Brutallus. I got very nostalgic -- and because of the intro screen (and encouragement from Matt Rossi), I decided to go into the Black Temple and have a nice chat with Illidan again.

JohnSmith asked:

Is there a way to turn off the aura's over every npc and toon when i hover over em? Even the portals are crazy at the moment.

You can turn them off in the settings window, which you can access from the main menu when hitting escape a few times.

Booty Bay Brewing asked:

Where exactly is the feature to un-delete a toon ? I was searching all night and could not find it.

Blizzard ran into some errors with the undelete feature and turned it off -- although it could be back at any minute. My understanding is that there's another patch in the works that we're going to see very soon, and I suspect that returning the undelete option will be a top priority.

Diamon Dust asked:

So, silly question that I'm sure I could look up the answer for, but I'm impatient. The reforgers are gone now, so does that mean our gear switches stats based on our spec now, or is that coming later? I didn't even think to check it earlier when I was online, and now I need to know. NEED to know.

Yes, reforging is now gone and isn't coming back. But the gear you speak of, which will adapt itself to the spec you're using, isn't here until WoD content proper. Older gear doesn't do that.

Blood elves new model ETA, when the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the mountains blow in the wind like leaves. Next expansion basically.

There is no way Blizzard is going to wait until the next expansion for the Blood Elves model. The best that we can hope for is in 6.1; and honestly I think that's a fair hope. They wanted to release them now, and they didn't because there needed to be more work done. Well, patch 6.1 is still a bit off, so there's plenty of time for that work to be done.

Basically I'm saying patch 6.1; if that wasn't clear.
