Patch 5.4.8 hotfixes for June 17

A short list of hotfixes for patch 5.4.8 have been released and posted to the official blog. Although a small round, these hotfixes include the adjustment to the Bloody Coin drop rate mentioned yesterday -- the drop rate is now 100% upon landing a killing blow on a level 90 character. This is an additional adjustment to hotfixes last week that addressed the Censer of Eternal Agony, Bloody Coins, and Fire-Watcher's Oath. In addition, players may now use the Nightmarish Hitching Post in both Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds.

Rygarius

June 17

Creatures

  • NPC vendors selling Tier-16 armor pieces now have significantly more health.

Items

  • Fire-Watcher's Oath: Players transformed into an Ordon Fire-Watcher now have a 100% chance to gain Bloody Coins on killing-blows against level-90 characters. Note that there's still a short internal-cooldown on earning Bloody Coins.
  • Nightmarish Hitching Post is now usable in Arenas and Rated Battlegrounds.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where the Nightmarish Reins buff could cause players on a flight path to travel slowly.
  • Resolved an issue where players may receive duplicate letters in-game for purchases made on the store.

Hotfix to address issues with flag carriers in rated battlegrounds

It's tough carrying the flag in Warsong Gulch or Twin Peaks, primarily due to the Focused Assault debuff which increases the damage you take when you pick up the flag -- but it's about to get a little tougher for tanks playing these rated battlegrounds. According to CM Lore, in rated battlegrounds tanks who carry the flag should be getting a bigger debuff -- 50% additional damage compared to the 20% others get. However, a bug is currently treating tanks just like everyone else, so expect a hotfix soon (no restarts required).

In addition to fixing debuff damage, there are plans to add the same kind of debuff system to orb carriers in rated Temple of Kotmogu and cart carriers in rated Deepwind Gorge. These changes will take effect next maintenance cycle.

All of these changes are for rated battlegrounds only, where they should make it a bit easier to take out enemy flag carriers -- and tougher to keep your own alive.

Patch 5.4.7 hotfixes for May 13, 14

This week's bout of information on the upcoming 5.4.8 patch has taken most of the interest this week, but there were still hotfixes released for patch 5.4.7 as well. Most of the changes addressed various bugs, rather than any major adjustments -- given that the next patch is on the PTR, it's likely we won't be seeing much more in the way of major notes until 5.4.8 is released.

Patch 5.4.7 hotfixes for May 2

A small batch of hotfixes for patch 5.4.7 were released and posted to the official website yesterday. The hotfixes primarily concern the Garrosh Hellscream encounter on Flexible difficulty -- specifically, breakpoint concerns regarding the encounter should be alleviated with the new adjustments.

May 2

Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios
  • Siege of Orgrimmar
    • Garrosh Hellscream
      • [Requires a realm restart.] Garrosh Hellscream now only targets 2 players with Touch of Y'Shaarj and Empowered Touch of Y'Shaarj regardless of raid size on Flexible difficulty. Previously, the number of players targeted by the ability scale from 2 to 4, resulting in a harsh breakpoint for groups with 17-18 players.
      • [Requires a realm restart.] Touch of Y'Shaarj and Empowered Touch of Y'Shaarj cast times have been increased to 3.5 seconds (up from 2.5 seconds) on Flexible difficulty.
Battlegrounds and Arenas
  • Resolved an issue that was causing Battleground queues to report incorrect wait times.

Patch 5.4.7 hotfixes for April 28

A new round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.7 have been released and posted to the official site. Once again, the list is pretty short and addresses just a few small changes that have been made. However, players that have been dealing with the headache of trying to get Warforged Seals from a dead vendor may be particularly pleased with one of the changes.

April 28

Creatures
  • Elder Lin and Elder Liao now have significantly more health.
  • [Requires a realm restart.] Elder Lin and Elder Liao will now respawn much more quickly.
Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios
  • Siege of Orgrimmar
    • The Fallen Protectors
      • Resolved an issue where movement-freeing abilities incorrectly forced Mark of Anguish to transfer to another player.
    • Garrosh Hellscream
      • During the Garrosh Hellscream encounter, Eternal Flame no longer generates threat during stages 2 and 3 to address an issue that was making the encounter more difficult than intended for raid groups with Protection Paladin tanks.
Battlegrounds and Arenas
  • Matchmaking Ratings for Rated Battlegrounds has been increased by 100 for all players. Additional details for the change could be found in the forum thread titled: Rated Battleground MMR Hotfix.
UI Resolved an issue where players continue to be listed on the Raid Browser after accepting an invite from someone in a Flexible difficulty raid.

Patch 5.4.7 hotfixes for April 14

A new round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.7 have been released and posted on the official blog. Most of the hotfixes from today involve old raid encounters and achievements -- including one fix that should please those just crazy enough to attempt the Insane in the Membrane achievement.

Rygarius
April 14

Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios
  • Siege of Orgrimmar: Blackfuse Bombling should no longer be incorrectly awarded from the Spoils of Pandaria encounter.
  • Ice Crown Citadel: Resolved an issue that could prevent players from being able to loot The Lich King if NPCs dealt fatal damage to him.
  • The Eye: Additional safeguards have been added to the Kael'thas Sunstrider encounter that could cause him to sometimes not grant loot if he's defeated too quickly.
Achievements
  • Insane in the Membrane: Resolved an issue where Exalted status with the various Steamwheedle Cartel factions, as well as Honored status with the Bloodsail Buccaneers faction, were not properly being credited if those reputations subsequently decreased. Players should now be able to earn this achievement if they have ever brought those five reputations to the required levels.

Patch 5.4.7 hotfixes for April 7

A new round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.7 have been released and posted on the official blog. While the list is pretty small, it includes a few important changes for players, including the fact that world bosses in Mists of Pandaria are no longer tap-to-faction -- something that was revealed last week. There's also one particularly nice change for players that like to farm old content.
  • Players frustrated with the five instances per hour limit on World of Warcraft accounts should be pleased to note that that number has now been increased to 10.
  • Shaman, an issue that caused the visual effect for Healing Rain to persist indefinitely has been fixed.
  • All world bosses in Mists of Pandaria are no longer tap-to-faction -- players from both factions can engage the boss at the same time and receive loot.

Patch 5.4.7 hotfixes for March 18

A new round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.7 have been released and posted on the official blog. However, there are a few other small bugs and tweaks that have been made as well.
  • A number of questing and phasing issues for boosted characters have been resolved.
  • An issue that caused camps for both the Kirin Tor Offensive, the Sunreaver Onslaught and other areas on the Isle of Thunder to revert to an earlier progression stage has been resolved.
  • An issue preventing monks from using Roll, Chi Torpedo, or Flying Serpent Kick while carrying the flag in Battlegrounds has now been resolved.

  • Guards at both Huojin and Tushui Landing on the Timeless Isle are now significantly more deadly.

Patch 5.4.7 hotfixes for February 20

The first round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.7 have been released and posted to the official blog. The majority of the patch notes concern various bugs that have popped up since the release of the patch, most of which should now be resolved. • Battle pets and mounts that disappeared since the patch launch should be restored when you log in.
  • The Key to the Palace of Lei Shen should now be properly dropping from rare spawns and golden treasure chests on the Isle of Thunder.
  • An issue that allowed Death Knights to attack NPCs of their own faction if they did not complete Where Kings Walk or Warchief's Blessing has been resolved.

Blizzard update on missing mounts, pets

Sharp-eyed players may have noted the absence of several mounts and pets missing from their collections upon the release of patch 5.4.7. Mounts and pets obtained from the Scroll of Resurrection and Recruit-A-Friend programs had suddenly vanished from existence. While Blizzard has released a hotfix intended to address the issue, some players are still missing pets and mounts -- and Blizzard is currently working on resolving the issue. CM Orlyia provided a further update on the situation.

Orylia
Hello all,

As many of you know starting yesterday we became aware of an issue that some mounts and pets had gone missing after the patch. This included the mounts/pets awarded from the Recruit a Friend and Scroll of Resurrection promotions, purchased mounts/pets as well as a several others.

A hotfix was able to be applied yesterday that should have allowed most accounts with the RAF and SOR mounts to regain access to them.

Another hotfix was applied late last night in order to resolve the issue with purchased pets/mounts. This resolution did not have the same impact it did in testing, so many are still missing their purchased pets and mounts as well as several random pets listed in our breaking news.

You do not currently need to submit a ticket or otherwise contact our support staff about this, they are unable to assist directly with returning any missing mounts/pets.

Please know this issue has our full attention and we continue to work to get it resolved as quickly as we can. We will provide what updates we can as we receive them. Thank you all for your patience.

In short, although it might be tempting to fill out a ticket for those beloved missing pets or mounts, doing so really isn't going to get you anywhere -- the support staff can't directly assist with that particular issue. If you've noticed missing mounts or pets from your collections, sit tight for now. Blizzard is actively working on the issue, and we should see it fixed soon.
