A week has passed since the last round of hotfixes, but a new batch has been released tonight. Tonight's round includes bug fixes, class balance changes, and more. The Garrison Campaign fixes include:
  • A Stolen Heart: Azuka Bladefury should no longer be getting stuck in evade mode for Horde characters.
  • Primal Fury: Completing the quest should now correctly award Thisalee Crow (Alliance) or Choluna (Horde) as a Follower. A fix to award the followers for players that have already completed the quest will be made at a later date.
  • Socrethar's Demise: Resolved an issue that could cause the banner used to challenge Socrethar to not work correctly.

After today's long maintenance, another list of hotfixes has been revealed. Some highlights today include:
  • Blackrock Caverns: Rom'ogg Bonecrusher's Skullcracker ability should now correctly deal damage to Angered Earth elementals, allowing the achievement Crushing Bones and Cracking Skulls to be completed.
  • Arathi Basin: Players should now always have a fixed 25-second resurrection timer while in a Rated Battleground match.
  • Many garrison items, such as Salvage Crates, now stack to 20

Yes, more hotfixes. What do they entail, you ask? Well, I'm glad you did. Here's just a few highlights from this latest round of hotfixes. There are quite a few class changes, some of which I highly approve of (the ones that buff warriors) and other changes as well.
  • Death Knights see Blood Boil's damage reduced by 33.3%
  • Sacred Duty, formerly granting 5% additional haste from all sources, is heavily buffed and now grants 30% haste from all sources.
  • For you enhancement shaman, Stormstrike sees an 11.1% damage buff.
  • Gladiator Stance now only increases damage by 5%, down from 20%, but just about all damaging abilities for protection warriors see buffs - Thunder Clap, Deep Wounds and Revenge were buffed by 40%, while Devastate and Shield Slam both got 20% buffs.
There's a lot more, so head on over to the official site and take a look for yourself. Just about every class but monks saw some adjustment.

The weekend brought another small release of hotfixes for Patch 6.0.3. The list may be short, but there are a few different notes in there that players should take note of. On the list are a few PvP battleground changes, an adjustment to Ashran, and a few fixes and changes to various creatures around the world as well. Also, while it's not specifically mentioned in this round of hotfixes, it appears as though a hotfix was applied to allow Big Crates of Salvage to stack.
  • Players camping Poundfist take note: Poundfist is now immune to crowd-control effects.
  • Trapping will now award a caged beast for each nearby party member with an appropriate level barn -- this hotfix requires a realm restart.
  • The northern track switch in Silvershard Mines should now work correctly.

Another day, another batch of hotfixes. Today's round includes various bug fixes and balance changes, but the big highlight might be an additional change to trapping mobs for the Barn. In addition to the previously announced hotfixes, the following has been added:
  • Requires a realm restart] Increased the spawn rate and number of spawn points for Direfang Alpha, Ironhide Bull, and Wetland Trampler. This hotfix will be deployed in combination with the hotfix from January 7 to increase spawn rates slightly.

Hotfixes, piping hot. And what's in those hotfixes, you may ask? Well, I'm glad you did. Because if you hadn't, rhetorical reader, I wouldn't be able to inform you that, in addition to the trap stealing hotfix we mentioned earlier:
  • Spawn rates for Direfang Alpha, Ironhide Bull, and Wetland Trampler has increased slightly. This change requires a realm restart.
  • Alliance and Horde PvP vendors in Ashran now have collision boxes, so it should be easier for players to buy stuff.
  • Hand of Protection should now interrupt players that are in the process of capturing a point in the Battlegrounds.
  • A whole host of class fixes and changes.

After a long holiday break, we have a brand new round of hotfixes for Warlords of Draenor. Tonight's hotfixes are primarily class balance and quality-of-life changes, along with an extension to the 10th Anniversary event. Some highlights:
  • Dwarven Bunker/War Mill: Players can now accrue as many Iron Horde Scraps as they want.
  • Lumber Mill: Players can now accrue as much Timber as they want.
  • Various Nitrogg Thundertower nerfs in Grimrail Depot
  • Various rogue buffs
Those are the ones that interest me most, anyway. It will be nice to spend a night stockpiling Timber rather than needing to venture out every few days to replenish my stack of 250. Nitrogg Thundertower was also leaps and bounds more difficult than anything else found in dungeons if you're in a random group.

A small round of hotfixes have been deployed for the weekend and posted to the official blog. There are only three of them this time around, but players with a Gladiator's Sanctum in their garrison should make a note of the fix applied, in case they were unable to receive new Nemesis quests.

Another round of hotfixes has been released this evening. Along with a few class balance changes, here are some highlights:
  • [Requires a realm restart.] Socrethar's Demise: Resolved an issue that could cause Socrethar to become unattackable.
  • Primal Spirits should now be dropping more frequently while harvesting mineral and herb nodes outside of the Garrison, from Skinning, and in a satchel obtained by completing the daily Fishing quest from the Garrison Fishing Shack.
  • World Shrinker's effect is now removed when mounting up.

The latest round of hotfixes didn't roll out on the official hotfix blog, but resident Blizzard CM Rygarius made a series of tweets on Twitter that outlined the hotfixes with a note that since there is no update to the hotfix blog, he wanted to get the information out before the weekend. On the list are some PvP adjustments, as well as a fix to the transmog armor acquired from the Dwarven Bunker or War Mill.

Just in time for the weekend, a new round of hotfixes for patch 6.0.3 have been released to the official blog. There's a little bit of everything in this round of hotfixes, from PvP adjustments to garrison building tweaks, and even a few adjustments to professions as well. Please note that there are a few hotfixes that do require a realm restart to take effect.
  • Players leveling First Aid should note that Antiseptic Bandages no longer require Sea Scorpion Segments to craft.
  • In Ashran, Fangraal, Kronus, and faction Captains now continuously push towards the enemy faction's base.
  • Consuming a Draenor potion, elixir or flask should no longer cause players to break out of stealth.

  • Player pets should now correctly rejoin the player after taking a flight path or using a vehicle.
  • Battleground Flag Carriers should now correctly have a 45-second delay before their location is revealed to the enemy team (was incorrectly revealing their location immediately).
  • Recruit-a-Friend characters should now be correctly receiving a 300% bonus to the experience awarded for completing a Dungeon (was incorrectly awarding 900% instead).

Another significant round of hotfixes have gone live for Warlords of Draenor. This bunch includes numerous fixes to garrisons, classes, and the newly released Highmaul and world bosses. Some highlights include:
  • Iron Horde Invasion: Made a number of adjustments to make Gold Victory more obtainable.
  • Borrok the Devourer should now drop a Devourer's Gutstone that allows more than one player to loot it.
  • Tarlna the Ageless' Genesis ability now summons a maximum of 15 Giant Lashers and has a increased duration of 12 seconds (up from 6 seconds).
It's worth noting that though there has not been concrete confirmation, there's speculation that Tarlna the Ageless summoning far too many lashers contributed to server instability Tuesday evening.

The latest round of Warlords of Draenor hotfixes is directed at solving a number of issues with Inscription. The following glyphs were unable to be crafted and have now been added to vendors: The glyphs are currently unique and soulbound -- you cannot buy them en masse to list on the auction house. Glyph of Frostbrand Weapon does not currently have an associated item and could not be added to vendors. For now, shaman will learn the spell automatically instead. If you're a shaman and have not automatically learned the spell, relogging should fix it. Glyph of Blackout Kick, a glyph monks have been digging to find, is not currently in the game at all -- monks will need to wait until the next minor patch to acquire it.

In addition, ink traders -- which were briefly nonfunctional -- should now be fixed.

Another lengthy round of hotfixes for patch 6.0.3 hit the servers yesterday, including one to revert the LFG dungeon loot system back to personal loot. This round also includes a host of dungeon changes and adjustments, quest adjustments, and some welcome changes to Garrison Missions. In addition, the anniversary LFR edition of Molten Core has been tweaked, as well as Tarren Mill vs. Southshore.
  • Player characters are now guaranteed to have appropriate level Garrison Missons available for their followers according to their level range -- level 90-94, and level 95-99.
  • Ashran has been temporarily disabled as a daily quest choice while issues with some of the daily quests are being troubleshooted.
  • Players should no longer be incorrectly placed into a Molten Core run in which Ragnaros has already been defeated.
  • Personal loot has returned, and in addition, each player in the group will now always receive an item from the final dungeon boss.

When Warlords of Draenor launched, it brought with it a new loot system - the personal loot of Raid Finder was now in place for dungeons. There were advantages and disadvantages to this - one of the advantages was that loot didn't drop that no one wanted, for example. But a lot of players found it a less than compelling system.

And apparently their voices have been heard, because it's back, baby. Rygarius posted a host of dungeon and raid hotfixes, including but not limited to the return of Need before Greed as the default loot system in dungeons. What else is happening?
  • Completing your first Heroic Warlords dungeon nets you a reward of 50 Garrison Resources.
  • The return of the Call to Arms feature for in-demand roles like tanks and healers.
  • You will now once again be able to queue for dungeons from the Ashram cities of Stormshield and Warspear.

Another batch of hotfixes for patch 6.0.3 rolled out yesterday, addressing more bugs and issues with Warlords of Draenor. This time around, there are a host of garrison and quest adjustments and bug fixes, as well as some tweaks to NPCs and dungeons. It's not the longest list we've seen so far, but there are a lot of issues being addressed.
  • The Lunarfall Inn and Frostwall Tavern have had a few of their quests adjusted to offer improved rewards.
  • Several quests throughout Draenor have had their spawn and drop rates increased.
  • Warlocks -- you may be tricky with your enslaving of demons, but both Felwrought Annihilator and Xanatos the Defiler can no longer be enslaved.
  • Characters with over 600 skill in a profession should no longer continue to find catch-up items for those professions.

Earlier this evening, community manager Bashiok provided an update on World of Warcraft's server stability issues.

Warlords Launch Update
We're making preparations for the Europe maintenance beginning in just an hour, and along with hardware upgrades we will be implementing some of the performance improvements we've been testing. One of these is a fairly large change to the way the game world is run by the servers-expanding the phasing tech used for the Tanaan intro experience to the entire continent of Draenor. This will allow us to run multiple copies of Draenor simultaneously, spreading out server population, while attempting to keep guilds and parties within the same copy. We're currently running tests of this tech on a few North American realms, and have found we're able to raise realm capacity by a significant amount. We'll continue to provide updates as we progress through the Europe maintenance, and prepare to apply the same changes on the Americas and Oceanic realms.


Running multiple instances of an overworld zone is a long-lived practice in MMO games in general, even dating back to games contemporary with the launch of WoW in 2004. Until now, Blizzard has tried to avoid implementing such a thing to preserve their philosophy of the game's social aspects -- the idea of a persistent world shared with other players. Now, for the sake of stability, Blizzard is finally implementing it. We could debate their philosophy given their implementation of phasing in questing, but that's not necessarily applicable when talking about instancing entire servers. Whether it's a temporary measure or not, time will tell.

In addition, Blizzard has released a new round of hotfixes. Like yesterday's numerous hotfixes, many of these are aimed at questflow issues, and others at bugs in gameplay. You can find the hotfixes below.

After round one and round two of today's hotfixes comes round three. Once again, these hotfixes are aimed primarily at questflow, but there are a few bugfixes in the mix. Highlights include:
  • Artificer Romuul: Resolved an issue where players may sometimes not receive this quest after completing the Embaari Defense Crystal event.
  • These Colors Don't Run: Characters now receive credit towards planting a Frostwolf Banner when they defeat or help in defeating a Bladespire Ogre with the exception of Bladespire Mauler, Chef, Boarbuster, Ogron, and Goresnout.
  • Collision geometry has been added to Drek'Thar, Thrall, and Gazlowe in Frostfire Ridge.
  • Resolved an issue where Keg Smash may sometimes not generate Chi when used.

Blizzard has released the details of a second round of hotfixes today to go along with those issued earlier today, the majority of which are aimed at bottlenecks in questing and other questing issues. Highlights include:
  • Dark Enemies: Increased spawn rates for Shadowmoon Voidmancer.
  • [Requires a realm restart.] Gormaul Tower: (Temporary) Completion credit for the quest is automatically awarded once players reach the top of the hill.
  • Toy Train Set has been temporarily disabled.
The Shadowmoon Voidmancers were one of the earliest problematic areas in the Alliance questing experience, a bottleneck that caused a severe buildup of players last night and this afternoon. And the Toy Train Set hotfix will surely be appreciated by those stuck standing near a portal or any other bottleneck location.
