Around Azeroth: When I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself

All right, who ordered the Bloody Bull? Artic sent in this screenshot, which was taken during a Horde incursion into A Hero's Welcome in Dalaran. These attacks have gotten so common that the bartender has figured out exactly what drinks to make to soothe the invaders' bloodlust. Death from Above for the undead, Green and Mean for the orcs, High Jamaican Winds for the troll types, and of course Mind Erasers for the blood elves.

Around Azeroth: My only love sprung from my only hate

Holy Toledo, this has got to be the most effort I've ever seen anyone put into an Around Azeroth submission. Wikiwand of <Hellions> on Cenarion Circle wrote the following Shakespearean parody to accompany this screenshot from the Undercity:

Two skeletons, both alike in dignity,
In vile Undercity, where we lay our scene,
From ancient bones break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal jaws of these two foes
A pair of skull-cross'd lovers take their life;
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Do with their undeath bury their fleshy strife.
The fearful passageway of their death-mark'd love,
And the continuance of their forsaken rage,
Which, but their skeletal end, nought could remove,
Is now the deathly hours' traffic of our stage;
The which if you with missing ears attend,
What here shall miss, our death coils shall strive to mend.

Around Azeroth: A fishful of romance

While venturing into Icecrown Citadel, death knight Joanus of <Inner Circle> on Kilrogg-EU discovered this disturbing message spelled out on the ground with well-placed fish feasts. "The biggest questions to be asked here are who put this there? Why?" asked Joanus. "Is this a message from Jaina to Arthas? What does the Lich King think of this? How long has it been there? I guess the only way to find out is to head to the top of the Citadel and ask him personally." Yeah, good luck with that.

Around Azeroth: Totemic explosion

How many old-school Horde players used to use the "forest of totems" strategy on the trash packs in Blackwing Lair? Draenei shaman Vhaelor of <Deux Ex Machina> on Destromath missed out on this experience, being Alliance and all, so he decided to recreate it in the Stormwind castle. Unfortunately, Vhaelor himself couldn't see his mighty forest, so it was up to his friends to inform him of this bug. His pal Whitepaws snapped this photo and sent it in to us. Thanks, guys!

Around Azeroth: Ratatouille

Brewmaster Arshley of <Thunderbrew Guard> on Steamwheedle Cartel discovered a stray giant rat hanging out in one of the Dalaran kitchens. After an extensive period of pleading for its life, the rat managed to persuade him to leave in peace so that it could fulfill its dream of becoming a master chef. The rat even gave Arshley a piece of its delicious mandarin and watermelon tart. Unfortunately, the next day, Arshley and half the city had contracted the bubonic plague. I guess there's a reason rats are generally not welcome in kitchens.

Around Azeroth: The shadow knows

Nazgűl of <TheHiWay> on Runetotem is still bugging me with his non-standard-character name, but he does know how to take a nice action screenshot. "The poor Scarlet Miner sees only a mining cart, but the shadows never lie," he writes. "A dread Tauren Death Knight hides in secret, waiting for the right moment to strike."

Around Azeroth: The weather outside is frightful

But the eerie lavender lava coming from the giant rift in the earth is ... delightful? Wait, that's not right. Robpaulsen of <Baller Status> on Tichondrius sent in this picture from Crystalsong Forest, which is a beautiful place until you stop and think about what exactly is causing that purple glow on everything (freaky crystal-making magic from when the blue dragons fought the black dragons.) Eating anything growing in that landscape can't be healthy -- although I suspect it tastes like grape rock candy. Deliciously jaw-breaking!

Around Azeroth: Tag, you're dead

Karen sent in this murloc-tastic screenshot with this description: I grabbed this while doing some tribal outreach/assassination work for D. E. H. T. A.. I call it "I come in peace! Pay no attention to the felguard behind the axe." Keywords: Azeroth, felguard action shot, this costume makes me look fat." Not that fat, Karen, just big-boned.

Around Azeroth: The helium-filled dragon

Millya of <Business Time> on Moonrunner writes in with this tale: "Last night during our guild's quick Onyxia-10 run I encountered a ... rather unique situation. Being a mage, it's my job to terrorize her while she's flying around with her halitosis. Being a mage who doesn't want to be a smear on the ground, I always pop invisibility when she's landing!

This time, however, when I reappeared, our tank's fearsome posture had apparently frozen her in fear. She stayed like this, simply frozen and rotating in place for the rest of the fight while I laughed. Even after she was down, this is what she looked like. So of course I organized a group photo that is a marvel of coordination - "OK guys, stand to my left and right!" "But you're standing right in her corpse!" "Just trust me!" One of my guildies said she looks like a parade float. We do Christmas parade floats in style! Now with more dragon."

Around Azeroth: The voyeur

Mobule of <For the Herd> on Proudmoore took this picture of himself modeling the only useful gnomish engineering device -- the Gnomish X-Ray Specs. His girlfriend, Kristilrae, has volunteered to serve as the test subject. Nice pic and all, but doesn't it sort of ruin the point of X-Ray Specs if you can only use them on your significant other?

Around Azeroth: A lack of focus

Marconin of <Skull Then X> on Draka writes, "This shot was taken during one of my guild's raids on ICC-25. As you can see, there's a lot of corpses, and we were getting frazzled by all the wipes we'd endured. One of our hunters randomly started cutting focusing lenses for us and gave them away. This is the result. It reminded me of Ghostbusters (probably everyone else too). We all started quoting the movie and made for a lighthearted reprieve from the raid."

Around Azeroth: Good will towards men

The druids of Moonglade have always been close .... too close. After a couple glasses of eggnog and under the influence of mistletoe, these two bashful shapeshifters shifted into being something more than just friends. The next day, they pretended that it never happened, but when a few horrendously ugly furry purple babies show up nine months from now, there's going to be a lot of unanswered questions in the Cenarion Circle. (Thanks to Jack for the screenshot!)

Around Azeroth: Red sleigh down

Even during Winter Veil, Azeroth is still a war zone, as warlock Hated of Mok'Nathal found out when attempting to deliver presents to the children of Draenor. A well-aimed Burning Legion fireball over Blade's Edge took out his sleigh and most of his reindeer. Rudolph should have turned off his glowing nose -- it only attracts the surface-to-air heat-seeking spells.

Around Azeroth: The spirit of Winter Veil

It's the most wonderful time of the year again! The time of year where we try to plot how to escape from various horrid family gatherings and sneak out to get drunk and/or play video games. But feel sympathy for we humble public servants who have to work all week. This picture, taken in Dalaran by Gerda of Lightbringer, is about as close as I'll get to a Christmas tree this year, unless one falls on a person.

Around Azeroth: Little big men

Child labor laws have no standing in Azeroth, so Louis of <Dragons Teeth> on Wyrmrest Accord saw no problem with having his squire do all of his fetching, lifting, and trudging through swamps looking for rare herbs for him. Until the squires formed a union, that is. "One part Baby Spice, three parts Papa Hummel's Old-Fashioned Pet Biscuits, three angry Argent Squires, one frightened warr... <squashed under the biggest boot you've ever seen>," wrote Louis.
