- Quest Tracking Feature: Let's run through this
Let's take a look at the new quest tracking feature using some of the dailies outside of the Colesium.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Tracked!
Okay, we've accepted the Kraken quest. As you can see, it gives the normal tracking to the right under the minimap except for a strange little '1' in a circle. Let's click it.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Ack, a map!
Well, here we go. Instead of the normal quest frame, we appear to be getting a hybrid quest frame and map. As you can see, the Kraken quest is on the map up in the straight to the north marked with that same 1 in a circle. Not only that, but there is a minimize button next to the window close button. Again, when given a new shiny button, the only option is to press it.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Mini-quest map!
I got here clicking the minimize button from the large quest tracker map. This one is a lot smaller than the normal map. It also has the quest tracking mark on it as the previous map, but without all of the extras.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Just browsing
I just wanted to take a look at the map of around the island for reference. Oh, ignore the 'Feedback' text on the map. It's automated PTR stuff.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Maximized
I hit the maximize button the previous map window and got the big version again. Again, just browsing. We've seen the map, but let's see what happened to the quest log window.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Show map button
Well, the Quest Log itself looks very much like it does on the live realms except for one button. This opens up the map interface.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Grabbing a 2nd quest
This is the crusader version of Battle Before the Citadel. Now we'll take a look at having two quests in the log with the tracking.
- Quest Tracking Feature: And now we get a little two
Alrighty, we've got a number 1 next to Get Kraken! and now a number two next to Battle Before The Citadel. Of course, as we've got a new button, we must click it. The voices compel us.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Just the two of us...
Here we've got an example of a larger quest area. The large region to the south is the area they want you go hit for this quest and it's a good matchup of where you're supposed to go. We've also got Get Kraken still up at the top.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Mini quest map view
Here is the same quest looked at from the mini quest map viewpoint.
- Quest Tracking Feature: No tracking!
If you really don't like the tracking you can always turn it off. There is a little check box in the lower right-hand corner of the map window. Uncheck it and we completely lose our quest tracking info.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Smaller map
You've also got the ability to still do the small version of the map without the quest tracking features if you're tired of the full screen maps in the default UI.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Region tracking
If you don't have a quest with region tracking currently selected, then the region tracking doesn't show up. So, your map won't get cluttered with sections of the map laying out different regions of things for you to kill.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Quest complete
I ran through Get Kraken! really quick to see what happens when you finish a quest. As you can see, it has a little question mark beside that quest. Let's click it and see what it gives us.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Heading back to base
There is now a little question mark on our map showing us where we turn in the quest. This is handy for those quests where you turn it in at a different place than where we picked it up.
- Quest Tracking Feature: Quest completed on the smaller map
Here's a quick look at the quest completed on the smaller version of the map.
